Default Need a bit of help with freshly painted black car.

Got my car painted a week ago. Yesterday I parked the car outside while I rearranged my garage and it got tree sap on it. I'm thinking just spraying water on it and using a bug and tar remover to get the tree sap off and follow it with Meguiars #7 polishing compound. Would it be safe to do this or is there something else I should fallow?

if the sap is fresh(less than a week old without being sun baked on there) get some speed detailer and a clean microfiber. soak a part of the towel with the detailer and dab on the sap until it goes away. then rewash the whole car.

i have a repainted black Z as well and same thing happened to me. i use to detail as a living as well. don't do anything that would scratch the paint.
