Default Windshield funk

Anyone know how to get rid of that foggy funk that keeps building up on the inside of my front glass? I'll wipe with either a soft cloth or glass cleaner, but 2 days later it seems to be right back.

I don't know why this is such a problem in this car.

Do you use anything to condition your dash (Armorall perhaps)? If you do and are using Armorall, switch to Vinylex.

I just use wipes to clean the dash, so I don't spray that crap everywhere.

Here is a secret I learned working at a carwash in high school I still use today.

1. Drench inside of window with glass cleaner spray it real good.

2. Using BARE HANDS wipe bare palms over every inch of windshield.

3. Wash hands.

4. Wipe excess clean with paper towel or microfibers cloth.

Something about the oils in your bare hands strips the funk, where a towel will just smear it around.

Often times worn out wiper blades can attribute to this, replace if necessary.

My tip would be to thoroughly clean the glass with multiple towels. Spray a quality cleaner (Stoner Invisible Glass or Chemical Guys Window Clean) directly on a clean microfiber towel (DI Microfiber All Purpose Towel). Don't go overboard with cleaner, use just enough because you'll want to buff off the residue later. In fact I try to use as little as possible, while using enough to get the job done. It helps conserve product and it makes the cleaning go better. After you spray the cleaner on your towel wipe the whole windshield down thoroughly with medium pressure. Here is the critical part use at least 1 - 2 microfiber towels to buff off any remaining residue. I recommend two towels. The first one may have a fine mist of water or quick detailer on it to help get up the glass cleaner residue. I fold the towel in fourths and keep turning it to expose a fresh surface. Lastly use the third towel dry to again buff off any remaining residue. It leaves the glass very clean and it helps prevent moisture from clinging to the glass.

Another tip is after a thorough cleaning to use the Glass Science Fog Clear. It helps put a barrier of protection on the glass that further resists the build up of fog. A lot of motorcycle guys use it on their visor because of how well it works. Let me know if you have any questions.

Windex and crumpled up newspaper. Try it once and you'll never go back. Spray the Windex on the glass, wipe with the dry newspaper. The pigment in the paper polishes the glass. Been doing this for 30+ years.

i think i know what you're talkin about. i had this foggy funk build up all of a sudden but it wasn't so much fog it more of like greasy clear smear crap of some sort like when you touch the glass and it leaves a greasy residue from your fingerprint. I used a lot of window cleaner and scrubbed the hell out of it with 2 microfibers and now its gone.
