Unhappy wax gone already?

i waxed with Z-5 3 weeks ago and last week i took my car in to get tints done, and he washed it, i wish he didnt cause i didnt know what kind of towels he used or anything, but it was a nice jesture. after he washed it, it was as if the entire coat of wax was gone. no more smooth feel and a few swirl marks were visible, very tiny but their there. did i apply the wax wrong? i just basically took instructions from my cousin and the zaino site, but when you apply it, do you want it to be obvious that there is wax on the car, and then come back about 30min later and buff it out, or do you want to apply it wereas you really cant tell its there. In other words, do you want to leave a little wax residue on the car or should it be essentially invisible after your done applying it. thanks for the help

I'm sure millions of other Zaino users will pipe in, but I'm here first, so I'll take a stab at the question.

First: did you apply Z1 before the Z5 or mix the Z5 with ZFX before you applied the wax? if not, that's the prob.

Second: Zaino doesn't leave a dusty residue after removing, unlike a carnauba. So you shouldn't see any visible dust or residue, if that's your question.

Depending on whether you used Z1 or ZFX, 30 mins may not have been long enough for the Zaino to bond with the paint surface. Let us know on the Z1/ZFX question and we'll take it from there.

I am sure the Zaino is still there, sounds like your car tinter maybe better stick with tinting and not washing cars. Lord knows what kind of soap he used, could have left a nasty film on the car. Just wash it with Z-7 and Z-6 it and you will be fine...

i already washed it with z7 and noticed the smoothness was gone. i used ZFx mixed in the bottle per the zaino directions. im going home next wendesday so i will be able to rewax it again. the smoothness should still be there after i wash it right?

Z6 is your friend.

The 'swirl marks' you are talking about are no doubt from the towels he used.
But if you are that worried just put another coat of polish on( not wax...sorry pet peave).
