tako,

How does CG handle heat? Like if a customer were to CG the inner wheels and brembo calipers, would it melt under 300+ degrees?(heavy track use)

I don't think so. Labo said they tested up to 572F (300F) and there were no problem... That's all I can say for now. I have took my Z to track and my friend take his S2000 all the time to track but I saw no problems so far.
Thanks.

If you read the stoptech testing article posted online somewhere earlier, it said the brembos got up to about 750+ degrees F, after repeated cycling, much higher than 300C

Hi, I'm new here

I'm sorry to sound sceptic but I am. I read through the thread and website and I take it 350z_tako did not make this stuff in his basement/garage. Who made this stuff and what's the company name? I assume it's a significant chemical company that's behind all this, since this is something that large companies with millions of research money like 3M didn't come up with.

Thanks in advance.

I've read all of these posts and I'm still a little skeptical. Those who have used it have probably had great results. But it seems like this product is ONLY a substitute for waxing not the other surface preparation steps listed in my prior post. Knowing that, maybe this is something to try.

Question.... Does it build up and seal the paint from further surface preparation or adversely react with other paint cleaners/polishers???

If doesn't have Billy Mays' seal of approval, I ain't buying it.

Nothing can substitute preparation work, however, they even tested products on cars with no clear coat and it turned out very good.

This is not my invention. Chemist in japan invented.

I know you mentioned that it worked on wheels, but I was curious how it well it worked on wheels that may have a combination of painted and polished finishes. I'd like to give this product a try on my wheels but they have a painted center and a polished lip. Do you see a problem with that?

Here's a pic as an example, but you might not be able to tell.

The main part of the wheel is a painted finish (silver with a thick clearcoat), and the outer lip isn't painted, its more of a polished metal finish so its pretty shiny (but not chrome) when cleaned properly.

From reading other posts and info on the web it sounds like it will work, since you claim it will work on chrome, wood grain or any other material. I'd like to try this on my wheels in particular since VW brake pads put out a ton of dust and this would probably help protect them. I'd be curious to try it on my car as well but I'm afraid the few surface scratches I have will become even more permanent and look even worse. What do you think?

Default My second bottle has been shipped per confirmation

I'm gonna put it on my rims (275.00 each )

I will guinee pig, I trust this product, it sheds rain water off my glass without even turning on my wipers!

I am gonna add two more coats before track day and I am gonna get some better pics, they will include rims and 5 coats total!

I will wait 24 hours before taking the pics.

I will avoid shadows and get better lighting.

This will be interesting, hopefully this weekend?

I am not sure what shipping method they use.

EDIT FUBAR

Just checked Email it's UPS ground, it may make it by Friday!

Oh andycapp,
now I know what I meant.

There is no problem on those wheels!!!!!
Even on plastic bumper, this product works.
As long as the surface absorb CG liquid, CG creates a glass layer.

hmmm.. does it really create a smooth surface?? Cuz if you put it on a 350z.. its still brand new.. paint is still smooth anyways so it wouldn't really be a good example. I have a 1990 Maxima and the paint is semi-rough (sandwich bag test). Would CGQ make the surface smooth?? i'm starting to get sold on this stuff.

CrystalGuard did a brightness test with 60 degree specular brightness tester and CG added 20-30% brightness to a brand new car.

This product immediately add VERY smooth touch. Just like glass. I hope some other members with CG experience can explain it better.

Here's zPilott's recent review.

"Anyway, Sunday was the next round for autocross, so I took off up to Candlestick for the event. After I registered, I realized that I had forgotten my magnetic numbers at home. I tried making some with a sheet of paper, but, get this, masking tape wouldn't stick to my car!!! I was trying to find someone with some duct tape or something maybe, but decided it was a bad idea and eventually found someone who had some extra magnetic numbers that I could use. When I was walking around, asking for help, one guy said my car must be slicker than snail snot, and two others didn't believe that the tape wouldn't stick."

CG layer is that smooth!!!

Especially your Z is black, this product make BIG difference on black cars. You saw my black Z's pic on my first post. I got that Z from dealer with plastic protecter sheets on and I even didn't buffing. Just sealed with CrystalGuard.

And you live in SF Bay Area, just stop by at my shop tomorrow or so and I show you

Sounds good. I'll be curious to see how easy it will be to clean off your wheels after the track event. If this product can ease the pain I have to go through every time I clean my wheels I will love it. I assume you are running high temp brake pads for the event or are you just using your stockers? (just curious as high temp ones I've used get much dustier)

EDIT:spelling

If applying the CGQ do you have to use the $20 micro fiber?

If not can a normal 100% cotton cloth or other substitute suffice?

After reading the testimonials I am considering purchase, but an additional $20 for a microfiber cloth seems questionable, at least to me.

thanks
