Default Need help. Petrified pine sap removal on body.

I just purchased my 350Z last week, and noticed there are about 8-9 spots that have petrified pine sap. I've tried bug and tar removal with no luck. What can I use that won't hurt the paint or clear coat?

Bbq charcoal lighter fluid works very well. Will take the wax off though.

Just put some on a paper towell, and hold it on the sap spot for a minute or so will soften it up.

depending on size, try a clay bar.

You need to emulsify the stuff.
Use mineral spirits.Need to soak the spots, put the mineral spirts
on a piece of terry towel.Get the cloth real wet.lay the cloth over the spots
until they soften.Use a good polish/clay bar to finish.

^Nail polish remover on a microfiber towel will take it right off. Before anyone says "OMG it will eat your paint", no it will not.

kerosene oil has helped me remove some of the most difficult gunk without harm to the paint. Never tried on any type of tree sap though.
Wear gloves cause the smell sticks around.
wipe it on generously with a terry cloth and let it soak in good. couple rounds of that and I think it should work on the sap.
wash right after and rewax the areas you used the kerosene on

often, plain old boiling hot water on a microfiber works fine, followed by a quick wash, a clay bar (soft) to collect the dirt you've now spread into nearby areas of paint, a quick polish and then wax to re-protect the area

Thanks, the nail polish worked wonders. And now on to a nice wash and wax.
