Need help with End of season wash/wax procedure
Being almost March (and knowing my first few days off in ages will have 50 degree weather here in Chicago) has got me ready to clean off all the winter grime. The car was waxed JUST before the winter season, so I'm wondering what you guys suggest I do.
I love to make the car shine and look good, but I'm not THAT crazy (using Z1-Zwhatever). I just have some Black Magic wax I'll be putting on.
Now, am I supposed to use Dawn to remove the pre-snow layer of wax and get it down to the paint? Or is this unnecessary (Maybe instead do two washes with regular car soap)? Then, I'll wax. Also, is it okay to layer the wax (maybe 1st friday then 2nd coat saturday), will this make it look any better/last longer?
Thanks much for your help, I'm still pretty new to this

Also, the Black Magic wax says to use a circular motion, but you guys are saying lines vertical on sides/horizontal on top. Which do I do?
I prefer using circular motion rather than straight lines. Just be very careful when applying the product. Use a very soft foam applicator. Using circular motion will provide you a more even coverage than straight line. Either way will work, it's just i prefer using circular than straight. Others may have different opinions.
