Default Water Beading?

Can someone explain what water beading is to me?
I assume it's a way to tell whether your car is still being protected by any applied wax. Would beading be when say a drop of water just falls right off the car without leaving any trail?
Thanks in advance

water beading is when the water "bunches up" on your paint. If you have a teflon pan put some water in there, just a few drops, you will see "beads" of water, instead of a thin layer.

Yes, wax will bead water, and as it wears off you will get less beading.

Very nice picture indeed! I put a couple of drops of water on the side of my Z and they just fell right off with no trail. I then put some on the trunk and got the same effect as your picture... amazing.

Water beading is caused by surface tension created by a protective layer of polish or wax............

Ever notice when you wash with a car wash, the water no longer beads while the soap is on the car?? that is because the soap neutralizes the surface tension while the soap is present on the finish and when you rinse off the soap the beading comes back, now how many have ever noticed that, be truthful.....LOL

Actually, I've noticed two things since I started using Zaino. First, even when washing it with soapy water, that water still beads in large blobs. Second, because the Z doesn't really have much in the way of horizontal surfaces, I never see the water beading because it runs off two quickly. Of course, I cheat by using the sheeting method to rinse it. There's very little left behind to bead and dry.
