Default Clear bra paint fade

The paint not covered by the clear bra will certainly fade more than the paint under the clear bra. Am I correct about this? How do you keep the paint finish uniform? I am considering the clear bra on my new car.

I'm pretty sure that if you keep the car washed and perioditly waxed you shouldn't have to worry about fading. I am also considering the clear bra to protect the front end as opposed to the traditional bra. Have you gotten any estimates on the installed price?

No you are not correct. The paint under the clear bra will fade the same as the uncovered paint. The same exact amount of light is hitting both services.

I am going on my third clear bra ( due to a dumb sh*t backing into me and one other accident ) and I have either asked or been told this each time.

Default Fade and clear bra

Doesn't the clear bra have a layer that blocks some UV light? Would that not make a difference as to what UV light the paint was getting under the bra as opposed to the uncovered part? I do not understand why there would not be a different fade issue.

Well as I have said, they told me that there is absolutly no difference in fade if you decide to take it offsometimedown the road. They told me that the same exact light hits both areas.

1,000 is a rip off.. I think the normal price for a compleat kit on a Z is 500 or 600. Not sure which it is. And that is a installed, quality kit, done by a quality installer.

PM Krinkov ( I THINK that is his name on here )

He is an installer for Invisiguard ( Xpel Kits ) and will be able to answer all of your questions.

Default Clear Bra installer

OK. How do I find a good clear bra installer in the Baltimore/DC area? The only one I found (so far) wanted $1000. I though that seemed high!

I really don't know how to find one in your area. If you PM Krinkov he will be ableto answer all of your questions and might even be able to head you in the right direction on finding a good installer.

I had mine done in Richmond at Concourse auto detailing. The do it for several the dealers in that area. Plus, they don't charge the extraordinary rates that the mobil guys do. I paid $550 for the complete kit including headlights. He's got his own cutter, so he gets the film in rolls instead of precut.

Default Clear bra - Bekaert film

Anyone know of Bekaert film for a clear bra rather than 3M? I have a local installer who will do a G35 complete for $500 (3M film installer wants $1000). See www.solargard.com where I found out about it.
