After 5 hours of detailing... (Pics inside)
Well after driving 400 miles, and 200 of them being at night through the bug invested roads at night from SEMA-IAS back to Washington DC you can only imagine how many squashed bugs I had on the front of the car.
So today I decided to buckle down and just spend the time to completely detail the car. Here's what I did.
1) Hose down car with gentle mist
2) Used Meguiars NXT Car Wash one panel at a time.
3) Used Mr. Auto Dry water beeder (Whatever that thing is called) to dry the car.
4) Hand dried to car to get all left over water spots off the car
Then moved car into the garage...
5) Dusted car for all little flakes from outside
6) Hand applied NXT Wax (Not the booster, the real NXT Wax)
1 hour 15 minutes later
7) Used orbital buffer to remove the wax
While washing the car I also used the same soap to wash the rims, and also applied the NXT wax to the rims. I don't recommend this because it was a pain getting it off. Don't use NXT on rims!
Also, the NXT Car soap is amazing. It's one of the softest, not to mention best smelling soap I've used. The best part about it is - after washing soap off if you use a steady stream on the car it will actually get rid of 90% of the water by it just flowing off the car naturally.

Yes, I use NXT as well. Works awesome. However... I use it on my rims too. I never had a problem with it. Were they too hot? Also, I am not sure then benefit of leaving the wax on for 1.5 hours? I usually take it off within 15 minutes, and apply a second coat. Works great, and I get an awesome shine.
Anyway, your car looks great... almost exactly mine except my rims are merc silver.

god dam! honestly that is the cleanest black car i have ever seen without seeing it in person. that itself is an amazing feet. this just goes to back myself up that the NXT wax is quite an incredible little guy after all.

looks good yo... u still have swirls on your car and does the orbital help with filling them in? i ask because i really want to get rid of swirls the dealer put in and thinkin bout investing in a buffer
I use the orbital buffer to apply the NXT wax. I remove the wax by hand using microfiber towels. Then apply another coat of NXT wax with the orbital and remove by hand. NXT comes off really easy by hand. I had trouble with the orbital streaking.
Orbital simulates 400 hand strokes a minute. I really works the NXT wax in when you apply it.
Follow up overnight with the booster wax for a 3D shine.
I wonder if the Zaino trick works with NXT. Polish > Booster > Polish > Booster.
