OK. So just to clarify, if I put on a layer of polish and then a layer of sealant then I should just put more layers of sealant on to improve the shine/protection?

 

Yes, just one layer of polish is all you need, follow by as many layers of sealant as you want. But like Brad said, don't put on more than 3 at a time. The shine is very rich and deep; especially on dark color cars. I have 2 coats thus far of the sealant, and already it has made the redline much deeper and vibrant.

 

I finally had the opportunity to BLACKFIRE!!!!

I bought the new car kit, and Big Blue Towel.....washed the car with Shampoo provided, and dried with the towel.......most say they get the whole car dry with the towel, but it got pretty moist so I finished up with another towel I had......took a short break to make sure all was dry.....I have had car for 5 weeks, and washed 3 times, so I skipped the claybar......applied polish with the towel like applicator.......went on easy........I started with the roof.....I applied very little, as many said they overused......I think I used too little and added more as I went.........applied to 2 sections, buffed 1st section, applied to third section, buffed 2nd section, etc.......everything went well.....application was simple, and buffing went well.........ALERT........be careful of taillights.......water definitly gets in there, and as soon as the applicator hits it , the applicator gets wet.......for all future applicataions I am staying an inch away from the lights.........polish went on fine and buffed off fine......I used the blue towels that were in the kit......they seemed to shed alot.....I hope this lessens as time goes on........I then used protectant.......with the foam applicator......once again it went smoothly........no one else was home, so the only opinion I have is mine.....I think itis hard for me to tell the difference, since I was staring at the car for 4 hours....however when I was inspecting the hood I could see my house in the reflection, so I am sure there is an improvement!!!!!!.......the car is now covered........I am off on Tuesday, and will apply 2 more layers of protectant.......weather permitting.....then time for a drive!!!!!!

I dont have a digicam, but my brother does......I will try to get it by Tuesday.......I am biased, but I could not be happier with my color pick.......and I also like the fact that it is not a popular color.......it just makes the car stand out more!

 

After spending many hours reading the posts on this forum (as well as the BMW & Audi boards), I was swayed by the pix of TCL
(9/29 05:41pm) of the reflection of flowers & bushes off his 350 door (I hope it wasn't a Photoshop), and by the relative ease of application. Was leaning toward Zaino, till I read it was a dust magnet - from a long time Zaino user, who performed tests of many systems on a number of cars. My black 350Z is already a dust magnet, and I don't need to make it worse.

I ordered the Blackfire products on Sat. Received an email today (Mon.) that it has been shipped and should arrive on Thurs (via UPS). That's fast shipping by Classic Motoring Assessories and UPS.

Can't wait to Blackfire - may need to ask some questions.

Pound for pound, I'm totally satisfied with the results from the Blackfire Complete Car kit.

I washed the Z with the shampoo they give. Rinses very easily. Not too much foaming like some car washes.
I likewise skipped the clay bar, as my car felt like glass with the finger-in-the-plastic-bag test. I clayed one panel, and nothing came up on the clay, so I surmised that my paint was ready for a good wax.
The polish went on easily -- almost seemed too easy. There is VERY little residue left after applying the polish, which could lead one to think they need to use more product. This would be a big mistake. I followed the directions fairly accurately, and was blown away with the results.

In a few days, I'll revisit the finish with the spray touch-up wax and see how that goes.

Same here! Blackfire for life as well! It really brings out the color, only after 2 coats! 2 more going on today!

 

I used Blackfire (including the shampoo) on my Z this past weekend... Very impressive, even though mine is PPW.

I also liked the Viper detailing cloths and the Big Blue drying towel... Microfiber is the only way to go.

PLEASE let me see some pics of your blackfired PPW! I'm dying to see what wax/polymer looks best on a PPW car, since I'm ordering one. I was thinking of going with blackfire...

 

Sorry... I don't have a digital camera. You'll have to trust me... It looks great even though Blackfire is supposed to work best for dark-colored cars.

Without using Zaino, I can't make a direct comparison, but Blackfire seems easier to use... You can't go wrong. They also sell pretty much everything you'd need, so it's a one-stop shop.

 

All right I did it. I bought the Blackfire Gloss polish and protectant. I've have always been a big fan of carnauba's.

For the Blackfire people on this board, has anyone used it with the porter cable.

Would you recommend it or just apply it by hand?

 

Sorry one more question does microfiber make that much difference when removing it?

 

Ok, I just got my Blackfire new car kit. I also ordered some clay bars.

Now what? Should I wash the car with the shampoo provided or use Dawn (and if I use Dawn how much should I use)? I just got my car about a month ago and it has never been waxed before.


How long do I need to wait before I remove the polish? Do I wait until it's dry or 12 hours?

How about the protectant, should I wait 12 hours between coats?

Wash the car with the shampoo provided first. Clay the car if you feel any roughness on the paint (sandwich bag test)... If not.. park your car in the shade or in the garage then proceed with the Polish. After the polish.. buff off any remaining haze. The beauty of Blackfire is that you can go straight to the All Paint Protection right away. No need for any cure time. If you want to add another layer of All Paint Protection... they suggest you wait 12 hours to make sure it fully sets. Hope that helps!

I have been using Blackfire for a while but am no expert. I originaly got it for my wifes black Land Rover but was so impressed I decided to use in on the Z. I had Klasse All-in-One and High Gloss on the Z and added Blackfire as a test to see how well it would do. I was VERY pleased with the results. Incredible shine and smooth as glass. I did clay prior to initial Klasse application. I'll post some pics.

They will know the power of the dark side Master.
