A word on leather care from Summit Ind. (maker of Lexol & Vinylex)
I put in a call to them to ask about leather care and whether a vinyl protectant should be used. They confirmed that some new cars come w/ a coating on the leather and should be treated w/ a vinyl protectant.
The way to test is to put a drop of water on the leather seat. If it is NOT absorbed by the leather, then the leather should be treated as vinyl. They also claim that the coating will probably wear off eventually. When it does, then lexol conditioner can be used.
Anyone up for trying the water drop test on his/her 350z?
