I actually had some of the $700 stuff, the local Momo distributor gave it to me. I thought he was full of BS when he said it was $500 (4 years ago).
If you look on this site you can buy the real Zymol. The crap they sell in auto part stores is glorified Turtle wax.
They have several formulas, one for specific for Japanese paint.
If anyone buys some, make sure to keep it in the fridge. The stuff melts in high heat.

In several wax "shootouts" the stuff they sell at Walmart did just as well as it's MUCH more expensive namesake. Zymol is a pretty good product but not as good as Zaino IMO.

Smells good though!

 

I think Zymol just has that wax as a conversation piece as its price has started a thread exactly like this on probably 100 different detailing sites on the net, actually a very smart marketing policy by the Zymol people.

 

I used to use the Wal-Mart brand Zymol before I got my hands on some Zaino. It hid swirl marks very nicely but it's far from being anywhere as durable as Zaino!
