Default Best swirl mark remover for...

a Redline Z with moderate/severe swirl marks all over the car? I plan on getting myself a Porter Cable machine soon and was wondering what swirl remover product would work best for my situation? Also, besides the swirl remover, what else would I need to make the car look as healthy or healthier than it did from the dealership?

I'm also going to order another Zaino kit and hopefully some waffle towels.

I'd go for Megs DACP # 83 to remove the swirls and then follow it w/ #80 speed glaze, top it all w/ your wax of choice. That's the method i've been using lately and i've gotten outstanding results.

I'll get up a pic of a black land cruiser I did yesterday.

I use 3M Swirl Mark Remover part number 39009 with the yellow or white pad, or if they scratches are really bad I will start with 3M Finesee It II and then step down to the 39009, then wash the car with DAwn and Zaino it.

quick question Kevin, why are you doing those steps and then applying dawn. That would just mean you are moving backwards

the reason he is using those products, then using dawn is because the products he listed are semi aggressive & remove some of the clearcoat to make an even surface, its not a filler like some swirl removers. then you use dawn to remove all wax and other buildup on the car and lastly apply some good wax protection to make it nice & shiney for a long time.......the filler polishes are only temporary, eventually you will need to remove the swirls that are small gouges in your clearcoat altogether, that is the only way to move on from the old swirls, then premium protection to eliminate major future swirls & keep the car looking nice.........

The swirl remover is a polish and it itself is removing all the wax and other build up on the car and gives extra protection under the wax. It's a polish, you still want some of it on

This is just something new to me, only time I've heard of people using dawn is when they want to start fresh, by doing the swirl remover and then using dawn you are actually moving backwards, no?

I was only responding to his post on the subject. I actually wash the the car, claybar, use a paint cleaner, polish, then wax.....I do this every 6 months on all my vehicles. I use mequiers nxt once a month here in florida......I honestly never used dawn on any of my vehicles......I was trying to make sense of his post, seemed the only possible reason for its use.....mabey hell reply! Best of luck,
-justin
