Default Wax Poll: Which One To Go With?

Please feel free to follow up with a brief summary of why you think the wax you choose would be the best. Also, post pictures if you like to showoff your nice car finish. Thanks.

If you have red or black.. Blackfire. I think it lasts almost as long as Zaino. it really gives a nice deep, gloss that lasts for months and months. easy to apply and buff off. just 2 steps.. polish and sealant.

Hmm, I'm not sure either,

My experience with NXT is this:

Application and removal is easy. However, this product does not last but 1-2 weeks compared to Zaino which is months.

I put 5 coats of NXT on my Maxima, and after one rain shower (with the car sitting in the driveway), I had to reapply after re-washing.

Since applying Zaino 2 weeks ago, I have only had to touch up with Z-6.

did you put 5 coats on at once? Because it's got cleaners in it and anything more then 2 coats is a waste.

I just finished week 7 on my girlfriends accord and it still beaded great and felt slick ( I redo my car every 4 weeks and it's always still giving good protection through that). I should note both cars are outside 24/7. I stripped everything off and just applied 2 coats of Z2 and a coat of Z5. My initial response is it's not as smooth as NXT but it still feels smoother then most products i've used. Initially it definately doesn't make the metallic flake pop out like the NXT did. We'll see how it works for the next 6-7 weeks. Then I'm gonna take it all off and apply rejex. I've also heard from a lot of people that zaino looks better after a few days (I haven't personally experienced this but we'll see). My zaino is also almost 3 years old, I'm trying to figure out if that may have anything to do w/ my initial reactions, but I'm pretty sure these things have great shelf life.

No, I put each coat after a few weeks. Like I said, my opinion along with others I have heard from on this site, says NXT does not last long.

I'm sticking with Zaino, its the best product I have used.

That's part of the problem I had w/ bonz stating that he's found the best but hasn't really tried any of the new stuff out there. If Zaino was the best no one would be bothering w/ anything else, but since opinions on things like this can vary so greatly the only true way to find the best for yourself is to try what else is out there and not go based on others opinions.

For example, you said you got very to little life out of NXT and others have recieved the same. While there are also people who are getting 2+ months out of it (along w/ a few reports I've read on sites of people getting 4 months out of it)

Hot Rod, if your Zaino is 3 years old, you may want to upgrade. Zaino is now NEW FORMULA!

Both the Z-2 and the Z-5 are new and I don't think ZFX was out 3 years ago either. Time to kick it NEW SCHOOL!

Like I said the smoothness does not last very long, it might bead for months, but the smoothness is not there compared to Zaino.

P.S. I have 3/4 of the bottle left over, if you want mine, send me the shipping and its your free.

this is the first i've heard of a new formula for Z2 and Z5, I knew ZFX is a new product.

What did they change w/ Z2 and Z5?

I have been a "zainoholic" for some 56+ applications. It is a GREAT product and some products I will continue to use. However, I tried "Autoglym" Body Shampoo Conditioner, Super Resin Polish, Extra Gloss Protection and Car Glass Polish....WOW!

I don't know WHY they changed it but what they did was supposedly improve it. Sal says he is constantly playing with the formulae.

Check out my thread on the new formula Zaino:

I pulled an old time favorite out of the closet yesterday for a friends maxima. S100. Love the depth, smoothness. Really seemed to sharpen the paint. May have to put the NXT back to the side

Not true. There are always those "too cool for the room" types that swear by the contrarian theories Whatever is popular, they want to say something else is better whether it is or not.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are good products besides Zaino. I'd kind of like to give Blackfire a try. However, everything I've used is inferior to Zaino IMO, and that includes NXT. It might be a good buy for what you pay and it is available everywhere, but I don't think it compares.

eh, what you also have to remember is people want different things from different waxes, zaino outlasts anything I've used but I don't care how long it lasts because that's irrelevant to me. I agree, I think NXT is inferior to Zaino in some ways, longetivity for example. And there is nothing wrong w/ you thinking Zaino is the best, but as you stated, there are a good amount of things out htere you haven't tried, Blackfire for example.

Yes there are people who are "too cool for the room". But those people are far and few between. If Zaino was the best all the pro's who are in the know would use it, but that's just not the case. There are different cases for different products, for a show car I wouldn't use zaino IMO. For a car that someone isn't gonna be wax'ing often and isn't that **** about car care, i'd use a strong long lasting product like Zaino.

Even take a look at the test bonz refers to the Guru Report. P21S/S100 got A's in everything while zaino didn't, the only difference was the p21s didn't last that long. Who cares when you are putting multiple coats on a month?

That's the beauty of all of this, nothing is "the best" It's all up to individual preference. Same goes w/ woman

I agree with everything you say except this one statement. I think Blackfire is about the same as Zaino (pretty much the same polymer, different application) and I think you can probably get a better look than Zaino if you don't care about durability.

Think about this: If you're a professional detailer, it is not in your best interest if the work you do for people to lasts TOO long! You want them coming back regularly!
