My observation is that the Z is one of the "wettest" car's I've ever owned. While the surfaces can be easily dried, there are a lot of places that seem to hold water. If you don't get all those areas dried out, then the first time you drive it after a wash, little drops run out across your nice clean finish and pick up dust, etc.

The leaf blower has been invaluable in that respect. It's great for forcing the water out of all kinds of hiding places.

Yeah I've noticed that too, especially under the rear window and where the rear wiper is. I've also noticed alot comes out of the mirrors when you take off, really anoying.

With my NISMO rear wing, it is a pain to dry. Water sits under there and when I open the hatch it all leaks down the rear window and onto the sides of the car. So before I do anything, I open the rear hatch and let it drain first.

As for the trouble spots, I agree. One thing I have done with sucess is to use my shop vac. It sucks out the water from the Rays lugnut holes really well. It's almost impossible to get at with a towel. The vac makes really short work of it. I have also used it to suck out the water from behind the mirrors and the door handles but you have to be really careful about not scratching the paint.

I use compressed air for little crevices that are hard to get water out of. I stole a bunch from the IT dept at work
