Default 13.933 @ 100.76

This was my second run EVAR in my life... I have never been to a track before.

What fun it was!

My goal of the night was to break 14 seconds, and I did it on my first run with a 13.98 @ 100.74.

After a while the track got loose and I couldnt get back below 14 seconds, but man, what a rush! I couldnt sleep all night last night!

The car is bone stock dcown to the air filter...

NOW I NEED SLICKS AND F/I!!!

Great job for it being your first time ever down the track....all you need to do is get your 60ft down in the 2.0 range, and you'll be 13.7's...nice job.

I agree, I think a better driver can get this car (on a good track) into the 13.7s.

I need to dyno it to determine if I have a factory freak or not...

Its not a freak, my stock Z can run traction limited 13.7's all night.

If I could get a really good 60', like a 1.9, it would go 13.5.

My best trap so far has been a 103.03.

You should be able to get that time down a little more though.

BTW, which model Z do you have?

I think the Base traps higher on average, but is harder too launch.

I have an Enthusiast.

It irks me to hear that the Z is a 14 second car.

If I, as a FIRST TIME track newb got there in 13.933. Why cant Car and Driver, or MotorTrend????

Wow. That is fast for bone stock. Best I've done is 14.005 and that was with no gas and removed passanger seat.

I had 1.4 tank gas, but everything else was in, wieghed in at 3475, which IMO is pretty heavy, I need to go easy on the Christmas Turkey.

Congrats on hitting 13's first time out! Drop your 60' time down some more and you'll be rewarded with a better et.

Good Luck!

Motor Trend ran a 13.7@100.7 during a comparo, with the S2000 and RX8.

Street launches are much easier than the track, with the stock tires.

Damn man I didnt think G35 sedans could go 13's stock. Nice time...what was your 60ft and 1/8 times? Great driving. How much do those things weigh?

I'm clueless on the weight, but I did have the spare and jack removed. Going off memory the 60' was 2.02 and the 1/8 was 9.03 @ 80 respectively. I have the run on video I can email it to you or if someone can host it that would be great.

Thanks

it's not a 14 second car...it's a 13 second car with mostly 14 second drivers.....see sig.

BTW - looking at your timeslip you're losing some MPH on the big end. I ususally trapped right about what you did in the 1/8 but I was up around 102-103mph in the 1/4.

The reason a lot of car mags didn't get 13s out of the car is because they really aren't the best drivers. They get a car for a couple hours...maybe a day or two at most and they have to learn to drive it and launch it in that short time. Not really the best indicator of a car's true performance potential.

That's REALLY quick for a stock G35 sedan. But I think it's possible. My buddy has a stock G35 sedan 6MT and back when I was stock I would only take him by 2-3 carlengths up to 100mph. From a roll he'd hang quite well although I would slowly pull the whole time.
