Hey Everyone! Had my new Z for about 6 weeks now, still stock- but not for long. Finally reached 1400 miles on the car and I am going to the Atco tomorrow night to see what my car will do! First time racing a 6mt. I used to race my x's GN years ago but of course that was auto. Although I always had manual trans I have to admit I am just getting used this clutch. It catches so high. Any tips on getting a good time the first time? I know, I know, practice, practice. But ALL of my friends are well known local racers and I don't want to look like a fool at the track!

BTW, I plan to get an exhaust done from my friends at Turbotrix in Jersey and my friend Ben from AGP in Arizona is getting me a turbo... one thing at a time though...must learn this car!

Any suggestions would be great!

Each one is different. You will have to learn your vehicle personally. You have to make sure the VDC is off. And there are alot of threads here about disableing the fuel cut off for hot starts. Use the search feature alot and there is a wealth of info just hiding in here. If you can't find what you need , just ask.

hey signZ, i live in norristown and have a g35. when are you going to ATCO? i have found that if you launch about 1700 rpm you dont get wheel hop and your 60' will be better. but i have a G so i am not sure about the Z.

Thanks for the info guys! Launching is something I am really worried about with this clutch and I plan to take the advice from tabrizio about adjusting it but not before I make it to the track this week, that'll take more time than I have . The plan has changed for Atco. Now we are going to Maple Grove on Friday night instead. Also planning to be at Z day at englishtown-MAYBE to run my car for fun and the shootout in July as a spectator.

I had two GN's so I know you enjoyed driving your x's
Here I am in my Z racing a GN (not mine) great woman driver too. i was quicker in R/T but she came flying by me at the end. It was a head to head race.
