There is a slight chance I might be moving to Austin Texas next year.
Are there any tracks out there? Are they any good?
What's the Drag Racing and Z culture out there?

 

The closest and best strip is San Antonio Raceway in Marion, TX. It's about 75 miles south of Austin.

 

San Antonio Raceway is the best, about an hour drive or so. Heading north is Little River in Temple, but that track has a short shut down area, is poorly lit and the pits and return road are dirt. If you're interested in road racing, Texas World Speedway is 2 hours away in College Station and the 2.9 mile road course is amazing.

 

Too bad it's next year! I am transferring to North Carolina in January. Would have been nice to meet!

San Antonio Raceway is definitely where you'll be racing. Make sure to hook up with sfarrah. He's good people and lives in Austin.
