Too much traction for a stock car?
The 4.5inch back spacing WILL NOT fit the Z...you need 5.5 inch back spacing

and 26x10.5x15 tires...

FYI: I just got kicked off the track last week for not having long enough Hub Bolts for the Pro Stars. I had to buy some Nismo 60 mm ones...
It's actually quite risky running the pro stars on the stock studs. since they do not go all the way outside the wheel and do not lock up into the lug nut's hex part which is not only and NHRA rule but could cause the wheel to come off.

I really don't see how the wheels could come off the car due to how the lug nuts that you use with the Welds are so far recessed into the wheel. I have to thread them a TON before they tighten. Thus they are holding onto a significant portion of the stud...actually more than on my street setup. The NHRA rule about studs is more to make sure that you have enough of the stud threaded into the lug. The only thing that I've ever heard of or read about is that you need an open end lug nut and you have to have 3 threads showing outside of that to run slicks. But with how far those lugs thread onto our studs...I fail to see any danger.

the rule book states that the stud has to be threaded into the hex part of the lug nut at least the same diameter as the stud and that does not happen on the stock studs. I agree that it's probably safe especially since our cars are not that fast but the guy at the track was walking around with the book in his hand...not much I could do.

btw I have not been able to get the Weld Lug nuts open ended as 12x 1.25 anywhere I can only find those closed. Any idea where to get those?

There's a lot of rediculous NHRA rules that none of us who run 11s abide by. We're supposed to have at least a roll bar and a clutch scatter shield, and a driveshaft loop, and a NHRA "certified" clutch and flyhweel.

They don't make them. Believe me...I tried to find them too back when I bought my slicks. Your only option if you really want to change your stud/lug setup is to find some studs that have the threading that the open end lugs use and hope they fit the car.

There's an easy solution to this, just don't get your car teched with the slicks on. When I go to the track I always tech right away with my street setup and then go to the pits and switch to my slicks. Nobody in the staging lanes is going to be staring at your lug nuts since they don't give a rats @ss.

I got the studs, nismo makes them, Perf Nissan was supposed to install them yesterday but one of the studs is not the right kind and even though they ensured me that they have another one in stock byt the time I got there they said they don't have it...sad.

I always change my tires at the track what happened was that the guy looked in my car saw the pro star wheel and started giving me ****

Im quite worried about braking my stuff too..

From what Ive learned your going to destroy, damage or, accelerate wear on one of two categories

a) Your entire driveline
b) your clutch

Depending on your launch style. Slipping the clutch is suppose to offer less shock to category A but increasing wear dramatically on category B. While dropping the clutch just does em all in...

You've got to pay to play.

The Z's only weakpoint in it's driveline is the rear half axles. With those upgraded (and a decent clutch) guys are pulling really disgusting 60' times and not breaking anything.

so i got everything mounted today, went to the track, first run scared of breaking things so i figured i would run with 18 psi and see what happened, i spun the hell outta them, second and final run, i tried 9 psi, good launch, hooked up well in first with N20 and ran outta nitrous, damnit!!! 13.000 at 102 lol nice trap speed...

now going 100+ and swaying back in forth is crazy as hell

what psi are you guys running yours at, i am thinking 12 13 and heat them up well.....?? anyone??
