quarter mile times

realilisticly, what quarter mile times does a stock 2003 plus Z get. i hear 13.9-14.5 range. is this true? i have a GT now with 4.10 gears and they seem to keep up pretty well i guess. i run 13.1 in the quarter. i am worried if i buy one it wont have the straight line performance i want. and im not into modding the engine. to much crap to deal with

13.9-14.2 sotck with a good driver is common.

Z isnt really a straight line car. i mean of course you can make it one, and alot of people on here have but if thats your main priority the Z might not be your best choice

I agree the Z is not known to be the best straight line car. Dont get me wrong for an NA v6 its got a nice topend. The cars handles well and has a very smooth torque band. ITs more of a track car than anything. If you wanna go for straight line speed go for a something with more power or something that you can easily make power with. AN example of a car that is all straight line speed would be a gto, or cobra. If you wanna stick with a japanese car take a look at the evo 9.
