I got messed with by a c5 corvette on my way home from the track sunday night, i was just curising along at 70 when he pulled up next to me and revs and takes off a little bit then slows back down.

So, I figuared what the heck, downshifted to 3rd and slowed down to around 60-65mph honked 3 times, and floored it. I jumped out 1 1/2 cars and stoped pulling once i shifted to 4th. all through 4th he stayed back there, there was a car in my lane coming up a little way up the road. I shifted to 5th and got over and started to let off and once i shifted to 5th and got over , he caught my door and pulled by me, but i had already started to left off..

But if we would of kept going, he would of pulled past me... So i was just wondering how fast the c5's where, i doubt it was a z06 verison as i didnt see any badges. And he didnt rape me off the jump

 

I call BS!! You sure he was racing...or just toying with you. Stock 350Z vs Stock (?) C5 = bad news for the Z . I experienced it with a vert C5. Wasn't pretty!

Your story could be very believable because I've beaten them at the track. I'll be posting my vid of me racing 1 this up coming weekend. On the roll I have no idea how strong the could be up top but it sounds very interesting to me. Alot of peeps doubt what the Z can do because of numbers on paper in the 1/4 against other cars. But on a roll things can change for our VQ35 against some V8's. Not all all of them!

 

it was interesting, because i droped it down, and started the count with the horn, and then after 3... i punched it and i jumped out, i guess he couldnt hear the little nissan horn, but anyways i took off and he was back there a little bit, and i quickly shifted to 4th and he stoped me pulling, then top of 4th he was coming back, shifted to 5th and got over and he pasted me...

so he would of beat me if we kept going

 

I bet you simply stole the kit and it took him a second to downshift, by then you were gone, he stopped your pull and eventually would have passed you. If he had it in gear ready to go, even if you stole the hit he would have come by you way sooner. Anything can happen on the street.....

 

Since he revved on the highway, I'll assume it is a M6 (although it could be A4)....

It sounded like you got the jump but I think that C5 would eventually pass you if race would have continued like you stated. I don't know what mod(s) you have but stock for stock, C5 should have the advantage of HP/TQ. Nevertheless good run.

Oh btw, if that was a Z06, you would know it, don't even have to wonder about it. When my Z06 was a bone stock, I killed 2004 350Z by nearly 2 full seconds (12.4 to 14.1) and by 16 mph trap speed (115 - 99) at the track.

Your high 13 to low 14 second car that barely traps 100 mph so don't think you are a C5 Killer.

 

didnt say i was a killer haha i just said what heppened... we were both in gear when i honked, because i could hear his car over mine hahaha but i guess he was being nice maybe? and gave me the jump? i duuno, but he gave me a thumbs up when he caught me... so you never know..

LMAO....I know I know....I beat the driver and not the car....lol To give more insight about my time with the track and trap speed. The track we race on in savannah is old and messed up. Ask anybody that goes to that track there and I promise you, you will hear the same thing. I beat alot of cars I have no business beating but hey If I can hook up faster I'm gone. Traction really sucks there and the track is being closed real soon and a 1/4 track will be opening real soon like 20minutes away from savannah. I run under 13.9 sec all day. New mod's will be installed soon and I'll be in the low to mid 13's here real soon.

Bad track conditions. Seems to be a lot of that going around.

 

I don't have any issues with my local track, however, we have horrible weather around here. During the summer the DA is well over 3,000 and even at fall, we are around 2,000.

 

at the very back of the track, like right after you cross the finish line there's gravel all over the place. You hear rocks hitting the bottom of the car and when you come back on the little road on the side of the track. There's pot holes all over the place...seriously.

 

I guess you have to know him to understand.

C5's can pull hard on the highway, my guess is he simply let off for the upcoming traffic, unless the driver is total retard the C5 is VASTLY quicker than the Z.
