wondering at what rpm do you guys launch? or what is best for a near stock 06? i personally have trouble starting high 2's, but im not a great straight racer or anything...so im not sure if thats just me.

 

Well in NA cars you should drop reletivily high because we get the most power at high RPM's. I tend to drop it around 5000 to 5200 rpm's.

 

Over 5K here as well.

 

on stock tires? <4k is best. its hard to get traction with them imo.

 

It can be done. You have to clean them off, with a couple of little burn outs.

My best 60' on the Potenzas was 1.913.

 

My eyes are usually on the Christmas tree not the tachometer. I think about 3,000 rpm. Post some of your recent time slips.

umm what tires are you on?

 

I'm sure 4-5k is fine, just not dropping the cluth.

I like the 4-4.5 range and riding/feathering the clutch to launch.

 

6 1/2 at every stop light....even in traffic

 

at 6k or above, anything less and i just bog.

 

6000rpm's on my set up with slicks-too low of a tire pressure=bog and a weaksauce 1.86 60ft

 

alberto, i kno u r proven on the track...what were u doin on a stock set up? still 6k? any idea on a revup motor?

 

I launch at 5500 on bfg drag radials and I did a 1.7 60 ft

 

I just got back from the track tonight. This was my first night running on the kdw's. I was only to get 4 runs in. My last run, I launched at 4k rpm and I STILL bogged! It was crazy. But I managed a 2.067 then a 13.8@100.61. I know I'm capable of 1.9's and mid 13's. I want to go back soon and get 10+ runs in. Maybe then I can dial it in.

 

Bone stock set-up Id do a 1/2 dump, 1/2 slip at around 2500rpm's. 2.05 60ft, and 13.7 @ 101. This was at a so so track I would love to run a stock Z at one of the better tracks in MD. Rev-up motor 3000-3500 modulating throttle should be decent...

Any input on how you would launch with street tires and your current set up? I need to learn how without dumping the clutch and what rpm so I don't just spin the tires... I have PS2's 285 30 20's.

I havent launched it yet man. Dont drive it in bad weather and rain so I havent had much seat time. I would imagine with some serious throttle modulation

 

i launch at 3k feathering clutch and managing throttle on my 19" RH C4s with dunlop sp 9000 285/35/19 and my best 60 was 2.298 with RT time of .017
@ 2500ft above Sea level

 

What should i launch at with a Greddy TT set up?
