A question completely related, but slightly off topic. I ran, bone stock, 13.705 w/ a 2.041 60ft. I now have [wasted money], with an Injen intake, a Skunk2 plenum spacer[/waste money] and, BF Drag Radials (275/40-17).

I just got back from the track it looked like this..
60ft - 1/4 - trap
2.149 - 14.409 @ 97.91
2.093 - 14.107 @ 98.87
2.020 - 14.092 @ 99.46
2.057 - 14.047 @ 99.47
2.055 - 14.005 @ 99.45
2.134 - 14.179 @ 99.14
2.065 - 14.119 @ 98.52
2.088 - 14.316 @ 97.57

There were no miss shifts and I drag her till redline. I warm the tires up as long as I can keep her in the box. They keep pulling me out of the box so I cant keep them spinning too long. I level at 5k RPM at the light, feather out the clutch and get NO spin and a butt load of bog. Ive tried to feather out the clutch to keep the RPMs up (as per Albertos post) and it just never fails to drop my RPMs below peak torque. I could let the clutch out slower, but I dont want to completely burn my 6,000 mile old clutch! (stock, my car has low miles)

Im running them at 15psi and I think their too low cause I get great traction at the line, but I spin into 2nd and spin into 3rd!!

A little help? I can stand that Im farter from my goal than before!!

Your traps are a little low...what were the conditions at the track like this time and what did you trap last time??

6000rpm clutch slip/dump will get you out of the hole without any bog. You're letting the clutch out just slow enough so that you bog but not so slow that you burn the clutch.

Im running them at 15psi and I think their too low cause I get great traction at the line, but I spin into 2nd and spin into 3rd!!
15 psi is too low, try more like 25psi, but that isn't why you chrip into second and third...sticky tires will always squirm on hard gear changes.

A little help? I can stand that Im farter from my goal than before!![/QUOTE]

So add some pressure to your tires...that should get you some trap back and help you not bog so bad, then report back.

Well that is just funny!!! you are a FARTER, lol.

Anyway to be serious, have you had your car tuned? I have read before that the intakes actually do cause our Z's to lose power, my advice get a Utec and install the base map, and then your times should be low to mid 13's.

I figured 15 may have been low.... but it was like a merry go round at Atco tonight and I didnt want to miss a beat. My traps dropped in a pretty big way, I was very keen on that. Im going to go back next Tuesday night, but I have to remove the Skunk2 and Injen as per Nissan. Their hooking me up with some warranty work. Good people...

Run the DRs up to 20~25psi and punch the fronts up to 45 for a little less rolling resistance. Hopefully Ill get it locked up and moving.

At the end of the night, I did notice that the sides were sticking stones like it was cool, but the center section was clean... unfortunatly Atco is a **** hole, and their air pump wasnt working for didly. Driving home on DRs w/ 15psi was a real ride too...

Side Note: Why cant I keep those tires spinning long enough to get them hot. I had so much hop one time I though my rear shot through my trunk!

Where you there tonight Domz? I saw a grey 350Z there, but I only saw one run to the tune of 13.9

If you want to get rid of the wheel hop switch to MT ET Streets or get some solid diff bushings from SPLParts.com like I did. I haven't launched at the strip with the new bushings yet but I don't get ANY wheel hop at all any more on the street. I was spinning in 3rd and 4th gear the other day in the rain and my rear end used to bounce all over the place. Didn't hop at all with the new bushings.

As for bogging I'd just increase tire pressures 2-3 psi each run till it goes away.

2.0X second 60-foot times show that you have a good start, but ET and trap speed could use improvement. You mentioned a previous ET of 13.70 seconds. I’m going to say that the car is as fast or faster that it was, but weather conditions are different.

BTW 15 psi might get you 2.0X second 60-foot times, but thats a hell of a lot of rolling resistance.

He's on DRs...so the 2.0s aren't so stellar...he should be able to pull of low 1.9s all day and some low 1.8s if he's decent with the launch.

I'm guessing you're trying to dumping the clutch and then hitting the brake for your burnout... If you have VDC, when you hit the brake, your throttle is reduced by like 30% or something along those lines... Anyways you may want to try to do the full VDC disable mod which will get rid of that great feature .

either pull the break fuse or build in a switch...that works fine in tcs but vdc has some strange side affects....

Best solution are line locks. push a button to keep the front wheels locked while the rear brakes a free and you can burn out as long as you want.

I have had mine for about 7 months now and they are amazing and helped me get a 1.66 60'
