Default ran my first 12 second pass

Well it's been a tremedous battle with my car at Race way park Hawaii...

Bone stock my 2004 automatic 2.73 geared coupe C5 dynoed 299 rwhp and ran 13.5 at 103 mph at this track ( best ever mph was 104.5 bone stock)

With 2004 Z06 heads and a Z06 cam ( the exact same engine found in 2004 Z06's) I ran 13.1 at 106 mph and dynoed 338 rwhp...About right considering the stock 2004 z06's run 12.9-13.1 at this track at 108-111 mph...

I then added a ram air intake and got nonthing but a bunch of codes and dynoed 345 rwhp but still ran the same times.

I then changed the 2004 Z06 cam to a after market thunder racing cam..224/224 .563 112 LSA. I went to the track and ran 13.0 at 108.5 mph. The cam was never tuned due to problems with my tuner not knowing what to do ( dyno shop tried to do my tune)

Knowing I was so close to 12's I ordered a 160 thermostat to help feep my car at 185 degrees when I hot lap vrs 205 degrees that it got up to with the stock 190 degree thermo stat. This made hot lapping the car much much better with know sighns of heat sink and made the car more consistent. I KNOW LONGER HAD TO LET THE CAR KOOL DOWN FOR 20 MINUTES BETWEEN EACH RUN TO GET OPTIMUM TIMES. She was now always kool..

But my times still stayed the same. just more 13.0's at 108's. So I then had my cats removed and went back to the track last night...

I ran three 12.9's at 108-109 mph in a row on my street tires off 2.1 60 fts. And my cam is still untuned

I have a professional tuner tuning my cam within the next few days and I'm hoping for 12.6's after the tune. Im gonna go to the track next week to find out. IM JUST SO HAPPY I CAN FINALLY SAY I HAVE A 12 SECOND CAR.

Congrats, what was your 1/8 mile times? I run consistent 2.1 60 fts and I haven't had an opportunity to hit a 1/4 mile track.

lol. Any ideas what my car would run in a 1/4 mile, I run 2.1 60fts and average 8.62 in the 1/8th at 88 mph on street tires and no traction.

I ran the 12.9's as follows..

2.1 60 ft
8.5 1/8
89 mph
12.9
109

Im some were between 370-400 rwhp untuned. So since were around the same power and same weight and same arodynamics our numbers should be real similar. Im an auto with 2.73 gears though. So since your gears should be more agressive you should make better use of the power than I do.

Congrats...i guess i[m clueless when it comes to c5's. I was always under the impression that they were 12 second cars stock. And I also had no idea it was that hard for the vette to dip into the 12's with bolt ons. It seems like you went through some hassle to get there.

C5's can run 12's bone stock...But at my track that goes slightly up hill and has a DA of 1500 ft on average all the cars are .3-.5 tenths slower here than they are in the mainland...

Stock 2004 Z06's run 12.9-13.1 as a best here..

vipers run 12.8-13.0 as a best here..

I guy I know recently bought a E55 AMG mercedes... it's supposed to run low 12's at 116 mph..

his best is a 12.8 at 109 bone stock...

So while my 12.9 sounds pretty slow...At my track it's enough for me to give most bone stock Z06 (2004) a loss and be hangingwith or a tenth behind the stock vipers.

As well as be a tenth slower than a E55 AMG. And really my car is just as fast as those. cas were both trapping 109 mph with our automatics. But the E55AMG runs the 12.8 off a 2.0 60 ft while my car runs 12.9's off a 2.1 60 ft.

With my times converted to what i would run in the mainland on a track that dosent go up hill..

Id be around a 12.4 at 114 mph. That makes since for my mods and is why I can take many stock z06's and also only be a tenth behind stock Vipers and E55 AMG's.

To put it more into perspective. A typical time for a bone stock 350Z at my track is 14.7 at 95 mph. Some of the bolt on ones get into the low 14's at close to 100 mph.

Go to the search future and type in Hawaii Race way park and then search in the drags section. You'll see modded 350Z's still trapping 95 mph at this track posting up there results.

Here is a link to show you what stock C5's can do. Look at the different times people get for the same exact stock car....Driver skill..Weather and track conditions can greatly effect what a can can and cant do.
