Thumbs up Turbonetics ST - 19" Street Tires/Wheels - 12.3 @ 113

Hey folks, I took a trip down to Bradenton tonight with a few 350z club members, and finally got to run the car on the drag strip. This was actually my first time EVER at the drag strip, and while I CAN drive, the whole organized 1/4 mile thing in front of spectators was new for me.

I was on 19" G-games wheels (heavy) with Falken FK-451 street tires (285/35/19 rears). The tires were deflated to 25psi. I had about 1/8th tank of 100 octane fuel for the runs. My car is running the turbonetics reflash, and I am running a 7lb wastegate spring with the Blitz SBC at 9psi.

My best run was my 2nd run. I actually hit about 9.5 psi due to a boost spike. My gain was set a bit to aggressive, and I was powershifting HARD. I normally don't drive like this on the street, so I'm assuming that was the source of my boost spike.

Here's the "half" timeslip. (They seem pretty cheap there and tear them in half when they give them to you)

I walked away extremely proud of my car. I believe this is the best timeslip I've seen for any stock motor ST on street tires, and I know that with some better rubber I'd easily be in the 11's. This is DEFINITELY the fastest ET I've seen on the Turbonetics reflash.

Chimmike was also out tonight and he ran a 12.5 on street tires. His car also is on the reflash but running stock boost. He has 18" wheels, but I'm not sure how much a difference it made for him. His car pulls very hard and I was VERY impressed with his times.

I witnessed Craigs 12.34 run, he freaking DESTROYED what I think was an SRT4 or something, I mean, a couple BUSLENGTHS haha.

That extra 1.5psi boost really makes a difference....really makes me think

Thumbs up

Nice job! The previous TN stock flash, street tire record was "laww" with a 12.4@114 (also on 19's also a 1.9 60ft-but on 100% 93 oct). What was your best trap of the day? Seems like the 2nd 1/8 mile its not pulling as hard as I think it can. Shift points?

Edit-curious what other times did you run?

I was shifting as close to redline as I could get. I could definitely improve on my shift points and get closer to 114 I think. I had the shift light set to 6200 and was definitely shifting past the light each time. One problem is, I was having to shift into 5th right before the 1/4 mile marker. I think I might have tapped the rev limiter slightly in 4th on this run.

My other two runs sucked. As stated, I'm a total newbie on the drag strip so the first run I just went out and cruised down the track granny shifting and got a 13.5 . My last run, I didn't feather the clutch enough and I got some mad wheel hop off the line, which killed my 60ft and put me at 12.9.

The second run was my pride and joy. With a little more practice I think I could be running closer to that constently. I might be able to cut a tenth off if I work on shifting at redline.

Great for your 1st time, my best time was my 2nd run also Funny seeing 3 TN owners all running under 10psi in this past week drag there cars-low 12's and 11's down the 1/4. We are making the TT "dyno queens" look bad with their mid 12 sec 1/4's and 118+ traps. <----not all TT owners but Id say 80% of em...

Congrats on the times! How were you launching the car (what rpm)? Is your redline still stock or does it get moved up with the reflash? Once again, great runs!

I was launching at roughly 2800rpms and feathering the clutch. On my third run I dropped it a bit too fast which produced wheel hop and a terrible 60ft. With the reflash, the rev limiter remains stock.

Alberto is that with a flash that ups redline to 7100?
I know my stock ecu will let me hit over 6600 in 1st and 2nd but I'm wondering how far it will actually go. (never really stared at it while going WOT in 1st til it hits the rev limiter)

Hey Taurren, when you launch at ~2800 do you let off so it grabs a lot (shifting weight towards the rear and then gradually give it more gas?) or is there another technique. I'm hittin up the track in 2 weeks but the only way I got a 1.9 60' was when I launched it hard at 4k with my tires being heated up a lot from previous runs. If you could go more into details I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks
