you can even step up to a 4 speed 4l60 or 4l80 trans and its just as good. only using 3 gears on the track and then you have an overdrive to drive home with .... im trying to build one now that will work for me

14.4@98? Those are Sentra numbers.

For your own good, DO NOT throw any money into your car to make it faster at the drag strip. You have a heavy car with automatic transmission and 20" rims. Please never expect much form it.

I haven't driven the Level 10 in a 350Z yet. I was in one for the 300ZXTT and it wasn't bad but still not good. I have heard nothing but horror stories of the Level 10s for 350Zs. This is why I put that remark in my original post. I know the AT is a better drag tranny but for most people's Zs at this point, that doesn't come into play. Congrat on your 9 sec pass. I have never made one yet. I haven't done any better than 10s. Fastest I went was 10.11 in a buddy's Supra and 10.38 in another buddy's FD. My personal car fastest was 11.00 in a 300ZXTT. My car had a lot more in it but nothing short of backhalfing the car or tubbing it out was going to help me. It was nice on the highway though.

the aftermarket will catch up... for the most part the trans issue will equal itself out in most situations. but if you arent a good driver then you want an auto. average bolt on car in here with a good driver then the maunal is a slight advantage *** you have the low gearing to multiply torque better. but again only an experianced driver is going to know how to use the manual trans...

thanks for the props on the nines. hoping to be able to anounce a 8 second pass before the end of the year

Damn, noob. A little harsh don't you think. Post your slips. I'll run my DD SUV (5500lbs and AT and sittin on 22") against your Z if you don't want to take up John on his offer.

Hey guys I really appreciate all the input and Fluid I know my car is not going to run crazy numbers at the track I was just trying to have some fun. Tilley you can gladly take it down the track one of these weekends to see if you can do any better. And TK2005 my money is on your Cayenne against that pinhead Fluid. John I would love to see your Z go down the track, that thing looks f#$%in awesome man, very nice work!!

You'll get it. Let the air get cooler, a proper burnout, a fresh coat of VHT.....it's coming.

Just kidding. And always congratulations to anyone running at the dragstrip rather than posting BS tales in the street racing forum.

I searched for something good about the run but can't find much. 78 mph with a 2.2 second start is OK. Then things take a turn for the worse. In the second 660 feet you pick up only 19 mph. Third to fourth gear shift? Hit redline limiter in third gear?

There is room for improvement. With practice you are driving a 14.1 second Z. So get out there and practice.

Hey thanks david I am getting exhaust and y pipe from njdan in a week or so, hopefully that will help a little. Also I am going to take someone's advice to get some smaller wheels and tires the next time I decide to go. The 20's are not the greatest for the track. Oh yea this was my best run the other slips are very embarassing I wouldn't dare post them I'd get flamed from here in PA to LA!!! LOL

I dont think you did THAT bad. 20's just kill your acceleration, not too mention your auto, bigger wheels essentially give you longer gearing on top of your already long auto gearing. If you want to keep the 20's get some 3.5 gears. I would really suggest getting 18s, 19s at the biggest. 20s are just too big for a sports car.

Give the guy a break. I was at Maple Grove that night running my 6mt and I had some of my worst times ever. The track was slippery- poor track prep as far as I can tell. I spun my wheels through first and second on each run. I don't think his times are awful for that night with his 20" wheels and auto.

Yes, you were in tech beside me with your non street tires in a completely gutted maxima. Great times for you, good job. My fiance ran one of his worst times in his awd galant @ 11.5, and I ran one of my worst times with street tires @ 14.3. All I was saying is although he could have done better it wasn't the worst time he could have run with 20" tires and heavy rims.

True this past friday i pulled a 11.55 @120. Track still wasnt that good. 20s arent the way to roll for speed.

Don't complain! I can't even hit a 14 with my 5AT. Very dissappointing. Will try again soon.
