I see you race in new jersey. Must be a new jersey thing. Domz is faster than other 5at's with the same mods also. My track is about 300ft above sea level. Anyway i'm still happy to be in the 13 club.

 

im not sure if its a new jersey thing... i ran a 13.80 in GA with just test pipes. remember im running all these times on 19 inch rims. im not trying to down play your 13 second run. its just that i would expect with the gears and all those mods atleast mid 13'z or lower.

 

Not every car is the same I guess. Some 5at's I see with the same mods run slower than me, some run about the same and some others run faster. It is what it is I guess. That was my first time at the track since adding the cats and spacer. With more seat time maybe I can get it a little faster.

 

I ran a 13.8 2.0-60ft stock with my 03 Z auto. With those mods you should be running mid 13s.

My piece of crap can't even get into the 14's yet. Tried it all and have given up. Giving the car to my girlfriend. Should of bought a manual. Oh well.

 

You must be at a pretty high elevation. Where are you?

 

I've only run it at LA County Raceway in Palmdale, CA. I've taken it twice and have never been able to get it any faster than 15.01. All I have is a pop charger, test pipes and 19's. Never run with test pipes or 19's. I think I'm really hurting on the launch. Any suggestions?

 

Conrats, minus the exhuast I was very much where you were with my 03.5 G35 Sedan 5AT, and I ran several 14.00's at up to 100.7 MPH, but at only 60' above sea level...I wanna say I launched at where the driveline slack is picked up and I had 16" Nittos too...I am praying to God they fit my 05 Coupe too. Anyway, 2.1 was the best for my 60' times as I could never get the car to leave hard...except one time I broke the tires loose...spun through two upshifts to 3rd.

Anyway, Nice job again, great to see a fellow 5AT'r in the 13s!

 

Thanks for the props man! I'm racing in Bragging Rights this saturday at Carolina Dragway. The racing classes go by who is closest to 11.0,12.0,13.0,14.0,15.0, so I've actually tried to sandbag recently at the track and run a 14.0 since i'm not fast enough to run a 13.0, well I filled the Z up with a full tank of gas, left the spare tire and tools in, and even raced in auto mode! I ran a damn 14.3! So this thursday I'm going back to my normal setup(1/4 tank gas,spare tire,tools removed and race in manual mode) After my first pass I'm going to play around with the launch rpm's and see what gets me closest to 14.0. Hopefully by saturday I'll know what to do. Anyway next year at Bragging Rights I'll hopefully be gunning for the 13 second class trophy! Wish me luck!

 

Do your regular routine, launch just off idle, and run it in D...see what that gets you...Manual mode is just a point of failure if you are going for bracket times, IE, a 14.00. I would try that with your normal gas and everything removed. Every 100lbs is 10 HP is 1/10th off your times so running a 14.3 vs. a 13.9 is spot on with all that extra weight in there. Still damn good though.
