Default my 1st time at the track

well i don't have the slips with me but i ran 14.8 constistantly 3 runs in a row.
Reason:
Nissan transmissions suck
due to grinding from 2nd to 3rd i had to wait and let the rmps drop in order to shift. i'll be taking my car in this week to schedule a time at the local dealership.

i did however still beat all three cars
rsx intake exhaust wheels (i had about a 5 to 10 car lead until the 2 to 3 shift, once in 3rd the rsx was at my front bumper. once i reached the 1/4 i was up about a half a car.)
wrx exhaust
ion w/stage 2 supercharger kit

Don't feel bad, others have done worse. And I wouldn't say Nissan transmissions suck.

Also I would hope you could beat the RSX/WRX/ION

My best time when stock was 14.5 on a hot humid day, also one wheel spin owned me that day.

So don't feel to down about it.

I hate to be the one to break the news but a drag racing thread without times slips is boring.

What have you run lately?

I don't think the trannys have any major issues either.

Mine shifts fine, unless I make a mistake.

I doubt its the tranny. I can almost gaurantee its either your shifting speed or you are too gung ho on the gas pedal. On the stock 235s wheel spin is a major problem. I've spun the tires through third gear and run 14.01. My worst run ever was a 14.6 I believe. I have seen Zs in the 16s though. It was a sad sight.

Sorry, I'm asking such noob questions. Is higher altitude harder or easier to get better time? How much does the outside temperatures and humidity affect the quarter mile times?

Higher altitude means thinner(lense dense) air. Less air = less power So higher elevation means slower times.

Colder air is more dense then hotter air, so cooler outside temps yield more power.

Lower humidity is better then high humidity, not sure why, perhaps water vapor in the air displaces the air molecules so the air with more humidity in it is lense dense? (just a wild *** guess)

Ruff Z - Thanks for answering my questions.

Well, I went to a drag strip for the first time ever just last week. The elevation of that strip, I think, is 500'. However, the temperature was pretty high at around high 90s until the sun went down, at which point it was still in the high 80s/low 90s. Also, humidity was pretty high.

After seeing my times, I felt pretty sh!tty. I've seen (on my350z.com) higher times from completely stock Zs. I think all the weather conditions and the heavier wheels and tires were to blame.

Racing with a fuked tranny is like taking a $hit with no toilet paper, why would you do it, and if you did why would you try to play dumb and wonder why you stink?

So you had almost ten cars and in one shift the rsx was at your bumber?? Even five cars and he still would have gained that much...

HAHAHA, you're an idiot... Please don't post ridiculous crap in here, Thanks.
