Default Guess my time!

Well, I am going drag racing for my first time since F/I and I want to see what some seasoned drag racers say about what times I should expect.

The Track:
Las Vegas Motor Speedway
~2200 ft. above sea level
Temperatures for that day are a high of 104 and a low of 80 so I am guessing mid-high 90s by 8:00pm when the event starts and down to low 90s by the time it ends. Nevada is also a really dry place, so relatively no humidity.
The track will be prepped with VHT to NHRA standards

The Car:
Built Motor JWT TT 350Z
6MT
14psi on 100 octane
554whp/690wtq peak, but look at the dyno chart below for power curve.
~3,370 lbs. with driver
Car is set up for track racing with stiff suspension and negative camber.
315/30/18 Rear Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Tires

The Driver:
My experience is mostly in track racing, but I have done a little bit of drag racing. I probably have 50 passes down the 1320 in an automatic '70 Chevelle with slicks and probably 25-30 passes in my 350Z when it was N/A. I am definately not strong in the launch area as I couldn't even get traction when I was N/A. My best 60' in the Z N/A is 2.259 with 256whp and 255/35/18 R-Compound Track Tires (not drag radials) and my best 1/4 mile with that setup was 14.239 @ 100.63 mph.

Also, after looking at the dyno chart, when do you think I should shift?

Discuss away ...

You have a twin turbo bro, launch at 3k slip the clutch ride boost through dont bog it. After the launch redline ever gear to about 6500 cause looks like you stop making power after 6300 power the shifts. DONT get the tires wet it will just cause friction beacuse your not using slicks or DR's just heat them up .

If you do it right

EASLY low to mid 11's @128-130mph
Even with a bad launch I bet nothing higher than 12.2

Yeah rear camber is still set at -2.8 or something like that for the track.

I would change it, but the following morning I have a track day. I will be doing this local motorsports triathalon called The ***** Challenge. Basically, Friday night will be drag racing, all day Saturday is track racing, and all day Sunday is autocross. Not enough time to adjust camber for me since I don't have the proper alignment tools and would have to go to a shop.

When it comes down to it, I really don't care about my times as I am really not into drag racing. My car is setup for track racing and thats where it shines. I just thought that it would be fun to see what you guys think I will run. I could care less if I ran a 14.000 as long as my car doesn't break and I have fun.

I have seen some respectable 60-foot times with R-Compound Track Tires. Do you have a stock rear axle?

Yes, the axles are stock. Remember though, my size (315/30/18) has a very short sidewall that is VERY stiff so taking air pressure out really won't do much for traction I don't think.

No drag radials. R-Compound road racing tires with -2.8 camber.

I don't really know what happened with that hump either lol, it was on a DynoPak so it wasn't tire spin.

traction is definitly gonna be your issue. Your camber is just not meant for drag racing. I'll say you do the same as Bigbri or so.

12.0 @ 125! Good luck keeping it straight though!

upper 120s mid 11's if you are ripping on the gears. if you drive like a road racer mid 120's and low 12's to high 11's

edit: are you running at lv again? im assuming you are going to be in 2k+ DA's so that would increase your et's by .3 and reduce the mph by 2-3 from my guess.

with a sidewall that small you really are going to have to modulate that throttle. being a roadracer you should have a good feel of the thresh hold of traction which is what racing on a street tire is about. nice power numbers....borrow some mustang guys slicks and come out of the hole easy and see what it will mph

i like the way he thinks. But i dont think slicks will hook up too well either still, because of his suspension!

Yeah, the track is ~2,200 ft. above sea level. I don't know any Mustang guys . Especially one cool enough to let a Nissan borrow his slicks .
