So last night I went out to Englishtown Raceway in Englishtown, NJ with a friend. First time I ever took the Z to the track. My Z is a Track model, stock with wheels and tires (18x8.5F and 18x9.5R Rota P45s) and an upgraded clutch (got it when they did my tranny under warranty), no other mods of any type besides SIRIUS and a headunit. I did take out the spare and the jack and my sub, but thats all.
My 60ft was a 2.07 if I recall correctly (timeslip isn't in front of me). But over all I'm pretty happy with this as a stock run.
I backed up the first run (the 13.90@99.57) with a 13.91@99.41 and the 60ft was a little worse on the second run. So I think a 13.8 is possible, maybe more.
I'd like to get to a 13.8xx@100.xx before I add any mods or get DRs or Slicks. I think it'll be easily attainible. Anyways, I'm giddy. I was just hoping I'd hit a 13.999 or better last night

330 - 5.818
1/8 - 8.943
MPH - 78.99
1000 - 11.632

1/8 - 8.958
MPH - 79.08
1000 - 11.643
1/4 - 13.919
MPH - 99.41
So somehow I managed a tenth slower in the 60ft on the second run, but still only lost a hundredth and a tenth of a MPH in the final 1/4 mile. So that leads me to believe a 1.9x 60ft with the type of shifting I did in the 2nd run (which was a little harder) should yeild a 13.8x or maybe ... MAYBE even a 13.7x.
We'll see tho... Next track day is sunday.
Nice times, you going to Nissan/Infiniti day this Saturday at E-town?
I ran 13.983@100.55mph w/ 2.25 60' bone stock (sans KDW-2's in stock size on the Track rims). I now have a JWT and am hoping to get it down to 13.7xx which shouldn't be too hard with enough passes.

So your "stock" time isn't exactly stock.. Still pretty damn good driving though. What RPM and tire pressure are you launching at? What's your technique? What kind of climate?

Nah, but there are no power adders and my tires aren't even sticker than the bridgestones that are OEM.
Tires pressure was 25psi, I launched at 5k on the first run and BOGGED (cut a 2.0 60 ft tho), then ran at 6300rpm and that spun a little (2.1 60ft run). Climate was 90 degrees out
Not sure on elevation, but I know it's not below sea level, probably even with sea level I think.
Technique on the first run was to slip the clutch as much as I could at 5k (which it doesn't allow much slippage really) and then just shifted as fast as possible (good enough to chirp 4th). Tried it on the 2nd run and the tires spun a little so it didn't work out as well, but I still shifted well.

I think you can hit a 13.7 with practice.

Personally I would not consider that stock because of the 2 upgrades to your drivetrain. At which point do you stop considering it stock? How much money did you spend on your clutch, rims, and tires? Close to stock? Absolutely. Your tires have excellent traction(undeniably better than stock). You may argue that they are heavier (how much do they weigh btw?) but that doesn't change the fact that you can get to 60 feet faster and at a slightly higher speed. Your clutch also grabs harder than the stock clutch. I wouldn't get so caught up in claiming to be stock or even staying where you're at now just so you can say you're stock (because you're not). It really shouldn't matter at this point. I consider those good times regardless of your minor mods, and I must say good job!! Nice driving!
What is the altitude at your track and what was the weather like? How much gas did you run with? I think you're right - I'm also willing to bet with your good driving you can easily hit 100mph if the conditions are right. My base model is 100% stock except for the K&N drop-in air filter, and the obvious spare/tools delete. I can't cut a 2.0 on my stock potenzas at 35psi at my track (and neither could anyone here, lol) but my car traps 100mph which personally I think is pretty DAMN good considering I'm 1000+ feet above sea level and thats @ roughly 83F 60%hum 29.9pres. I ran against a GTO on drag radials that trapped 102 flat if that's any indication.
I could tell about the same amount of difference in acceleration from the K&N as I could from removing the 40lbs of junk from the back. I was intimately familiar with the car when I made each change so they were both noticeable improvements to me. Maybe you could throw in a drop-in filter and that would set you closer to your 100mph target without affecting your "stockness".

i really dont know exactly how bad heat affects runs but i can feel it. I ran a 14.0 almost stock borla td and intake. i say chilli weather in S.A t.x. (83) then i modded my car.... all mods ( borla td, k&n typhoon intake, kinetix hi flow cats, kinetix plenum, ur pulley, jwt flywheel, clutchmasters satge 2, grounding kit.) ran a 13.55 but in simialr weather. Then ran a 13.2 in 60 degree weather.!!!! ??????? any suggestions. and yes system out and no spare.
