Default Ran a 1/4 mile finally

I own a '03 enthusiast 350Z its a 6speed manual, with a nismo cold air intake, Its pretty much bone stock. I ran a 14.5 on my second run at 98mph, I was hoping to run more but only ran twice due to alot of people and 45-60 min wait to run. I really wanted to dip into 14.3's or below but the freakin' tires spin like crazy in the first 2 gears! I need more mods and definetly slicks!

lol!!! bout to say....no need for yelling!!!!!! might need some more runs for practice. or just practice your launch on an old farm road outside of town.... with a perfect launch you should be able to hit a 14 or 14.1. my best time the very first time was a 14.0 with borla td and intake. now im running 13.2s-6s. with borla td, pulleys, kinetix plenum, kinetix hf cats, jwt flywheel, and clutchmasters clutch. soon to be LOW 12s with a procharger HOPEFULLY

With practice, you can definitely hit low 14s. Practice and better your launching before you get slicks or dr's.

No need to shout.

Time slips always appreciated.

Wrong forum. But besides that...

Congratulations. I always like to see new racers at the drags whether they are running 13.5 or 14.5 seconds. No matter. You are out there giving it your best rather than posting BS from a 80 mph roll stories in street racing. Practice with the tires that you have: you can do better than 14.5 seconds.

You know what you might want to try take a Xanx, it makes me relaxed and I and I shift faster, think because when you line you are a little nervous, that would make your times fasted, I slide thru gears like butter

What kind of tires @ what psi? Did you drive around the water box?

What was your 60ft and 1/8 times?

What did you run on the first run?

What was the altitude and weather like?

1/8= 9.515
FIRST RUN WAS=14.8 (REALLY CRAPPY LAUNCH)
WEATHER WAS 80ish? KINDA HOT.

You are in the normal range of the stock Z's I have seen the first few times out.
You can lower you ET with practice.

Actually his 60 foot is not terrible for stock potenzas at 35psi, it could be improved a little, sure(for starters he shouldn't be driving through the waterbox if he can help it). It's his 1/8 time that is out of whack. He said he spun really bad, which doesn't exactly explain why his 60 was 2.28 yet his 1/8 was 9.51....maybe he really spun the **** out of 2nd gear, didn't get everything out of first, or shifted like grandma.... or any combination of that.

Not bad for the first time out. Drive around the water box next time, stage shallow, and be a little more patient with the throttle so you don't blaze the tires because that won't get you anywhere fast.

Given the 60ft and 1/8 ET you were definetely spinning bad on the 1-2 shift or you need to work on the first 2 shifts. Regardless, its all said and done with, keep practicing 2.0 60ft's on stock tires is not hard just takes practice...

235 tires on the back? What kind of tire is that? Either way, drop the pressure a bit and it should help. If your 60' is really a 2.2, then thats really not bad, but i cant understand how you could manage a 2.2 60' then say you spun. So you didnt spin in first, but spun second a whole lot. Seems kinda odd. I mean it shows in the 1/8 time, but should show a little more in your 60' if you did have traction issues!

The 03 350Z enthusiast model comes with 235/50-17 Bridgestone Potenzas on the rear.

I thought the 03-05 base models were the only ones to come with 17s. Guess I was wrong.

Any trim Z's with 17 inch rims on the 03-05 Z's came with 235's I thought.
