Default Tried my drag radials. I dont get it.

I usually run at my local 1/4 mile track but they were closed so I went to the 1/8 mile track instead. I was using my new MT ET street radials, 255/50-16s that i have on 16x8 draglites. They dead hooked but my 60ft times were not any better. Best I could do was 2.2. I usually pull 2.1s on street tires all day spinning. Even pulled a 2.0 one time. I dont get it. I have a 5AT for anyone that doesnt already know.

Not spinning doesnt mean dead hooking. Were you heating them up? Were you bogging(<---what I think)? What were your tire pressures? Conditions? Launching differently than usual?

Yeah, I heated them up like usual. The RPMs didnt drop when I launched. (isnt that what happens when you bog?) I had 25psi in the tires. It was in the 80s. I launched at 2500 just like always.

I think I know how to fix the problem. Trade in for 07 or 08 six speed. LOL!

Maybe the 3.9 will help you. Even though you were spinning with your street tires, it probably helped you get up in the powerband quicker.

Try getting a higher stall converter, it will enable you to launch at higher rpm, therefore giving you more power out of the hole.

We run 18 psi in ours and you really need to load up, like 5000 rpms..

Load it up as hard as you can before the wheels start spinning while your powerbraking.

Just get a high stall converter and a trans cooler. With drag radials and the high stall, you'll have a sick launch, and its much cheaper than selling your car and buying a 6spd.

I used to have a auto supra, but damn I wish it was 6spd. lol

It isnt too different except you might be in high rpm a whole lot more than before.

You don't need a 6 speed. Just get a better stall. We put better stall's in mustangs and vettes all day long. A mustang auto that runs14.0 with a good stall will run 13.6. I have a 350z auto and i am putting a 3200 or 3400 in it. That should be plenty to keep you in your powerband. Also your 60ft will drop.
