Default Horrible 1/8th....MD 1/4 mile results

Ok, so I have a 03 G 6MT coupe...but I figured I would post here at 350z.com too since more Zs might drag race.

Here is my post about doing before and after runs for the MD 5/16 spacer.
http://g35driver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=120687

The conclusion was my avg trap increased 1mph and my avg et dropped .05.

The ets sucking are the result of my extremely notchy 1-2 shift which I am scheduled to have looked at by a dealer next week, and my bad launches....best 60' of 2.21

My best trap corrected (high temp humidity and low pressure eek) was 99.82 which is decent I think.

However my 1/8ths suck!!! most are 9.6 at around 74....is it safe to assume I could drop .3 and add another 1-2 mph if my 1-2 shift wasn't so notchy and stuff?

Any comments and advice welcome!!

You need help on that launch and first 2 gear shifts (1/8). Go back after you get a new tranny and let us know how you do....also dont "correct" times/traps they arent very good comparisons IMO. Just claim what you actually ran.

How are you launching? Where are you shifting? Tire pressure?

Don't know if this applies to the G's, but in the Z's especially in the 2003's the transmission generally needs work due to knotchy shifts.

Im launching by holding at 2.2-2.5k, and coming out of clutch and slowly going down on gas.

I get spin for about 10-15 feet and then it runs from 4-6.5k through first. BTW the track is horrible in my opinion best any of my opponents got (and some had drag radials) was a 2.1.

I have about 27-28 lbs pressure in my rears.

I shift at 6.5k, my 2-3 and 3-4 shift are pretty good imo....im sure they could improve some but its really the 1-2 shift that is killing me I think.

I think the 03 Gs (like me) have the same problems as the Zs when it comes to the extreme notchyness....hopefully that will be remedied shortly.

I was doing AD corrections because the temperature was 80 humidity 70% and pressure was lower than usual......also by using the same correction factors for the before and after runs I could get more accurate results of the MD spacer....otherwise it wouldn't be possible to compare results.

I think that is reasonable for a G35.

G 6MT coupes should run low 14s...a few people have even broken into 13.9 with either stock and excellent track conditions or with only a few mods (and hella launch!)

My corrected time of 14.41 @98.41 is decent...but i think I am losing 2 or 3 tenths do to my crappy launch and 1-2 shift....and ofcourse that 14.41 is adjusted becuase the AD was pretty high (1920). Anyway...when nov dec rolls around and I hopefully get a new tranny I should see noncorrected 14.2s 14.3s. Or at least that is what I am aiming for...
