Default Tire Gurus....am I retarded?

I swear the tire gods hate me....

with all the new power my car has and the decision that I want to run DR's from now on instead of slicks I ordered a set of MT ET Street Radials.
295/65/15 (only option when going 295). My street tires are 295/40/18 so I figured these should be about the same height.

They arrived today and they are HUGE, not in width, they actaully look slimmer than my old 275 dr's but they are really fn tall. I'm not sure they'll fit the car even with fender rolling. And yes I checked the inprint on the tires

Now they are not mounted yet so I'm kinda hoping that once they are mounted they stretch more in width won't be as tall.

Am I correct? Did I buy the wrong tires? Will they fit? Am retarded?

Please help

71mm is a considerable difference in overall height.

30" tall tire is wayyyy to much, return them if possible. I dont know how you wouldnt run that by a tire calculator before purchasing Tom....

because I'm slowly loosing my mind and I wanted a 295 wide tire, this is the only one they make

so going back to a 275 is my only option here I guess.

would the 275/60/15 work or do I have to go all the way to a 275/50/15 (which is what I used to have)

or how about a 325/50/15?

oh and since the 275 uses a 8" wheel am I screwed for getting a 10" wheel or would that still work?

you should try using the tire calculator posted above so you don't end up with some 33" top fuel tires...
