Default Possible for me to hit 12's?

These are my 2 best time slips.
The 13.399 @ 103.54 was done with Fujitsubo Y-Pipe, UR Pulley, Stillen Engine Brace, Kinetix Plenum, JWT Pop Charger, 3.5 rear end
The 13.395 @ 101.32 was after i added headers, test pipes, upgraded Kinetix plenum and got the A/F right enough ( not exactly right) with the UTEC to not run so lean it ruins my motor. Dyno'd at 245 HP while getting A/F to an acceptable level. Nothing but A/F was touched on the UTEC.
I dyno'd at 245 with only HFC, Pulley and engine brace in the begining of modding. Every mod i did took power away since then.

Up top, after the 1/8 the motor slacks out a couple times, too lean i think, so i didn't run but a couple of times, but it was taking away speed. Anyone think i can hit the 12's with a correct tune on the UTEC? Also, i will have true Dual custom HKS Ti Hi-Power exhaust for next runs and the tune up.

Nice numbers.

12.99 seconds or better? As you know each 1/10 second increment is more difficult to reach than the previous. In other words its more difficult to get from 13.40 to 13.30 seconds then it is from 13.50 to 13.40 seconds. Additional horsepower has less of an effect on ET than previously. I think that its called the law of diminishing marginal returns.

Slicks may be good for 1/10 second or a 1.86 second 60 foot time. But that alone is not going to get you to 12.99 seconds. I am impressed with consistency of your driving: 13.39 and 13.39 seconds.

Just keep your fingers crossed for a 50 MPH tail wind.

Anything is possible but a 350Z with no power adder running 12.99 seconds or better is a tough nut to crack.

I'm kinda in the same boat as you...except I'm trying to hit 11s. I have 0.4s to go until I hit it, but I don't think slicks are going to be able to buy me that much time--maybe 0.2s tops.

Good luck though and keep us posted!

what is your a/f ratio? you need about 104mph and a low 1.7 60' to scratch 12's

I've trapped 105 before running with DR's, now I am only trapping close to 104.

I'll be at Steele the Friday after Thanksgiving to give it a shot, if you want come out!

It can be done, but you definitely need a tune to get rid of that lean spot. I need a tune for that matter, but I am trying to get there with the mods I have now.

What are your 60ft's now? With a low 1.7 60ft, some weight reduction (no passenger seat, 11lb battery, switch to a JIC single 3" Ti exhaust 99.8lbs) and minimal gas in the tank you may come really close. Nice job, very respectable performance from the auto.

I have no idea what difference the stock auto makes versus the 6 speed

but I'd say with your mods, 12s would be VERY doable at a good track.

I ran the time in my sig with test pipes and intake only.. on ET streets but with a 60 foot of 1.92! So yes, 12s are VERY doable, I just don't know about what difference the auto tranny makes.

Do you mean 9.8 lbs

Very nice numbers for an Auto Z. Keep it up. Lets see those 12's...

I would think the torque converter would help, but I still don't think you'll hit 12s with just that. Very nice times for an auto.

Your time was higher with the seat out? Did you do something differently? That leather touring power seat is real heavy, probably 40-50lbs?

As far as power is concerned...I would ditch the Kinetix plenum for a 5/16" spacer AND MREV2 plus the UTEC tune after install. I'd also get the Varis air duct for maximum air flow to popcharger when moving.

Well now you need to lighten up. I would look into a used set light weight forged rims and lighter tires. Consider track rims...18 lbs or so each...if you don't already have light weight wheels. Take out passenger leather/power seat, install 15lb Sparco as the drivers seat, install 11lb braille battery, remove strut tower brace (not sure weight prob 10lbs but you dont need it when going in a straight line), lighter Ti exhaust, drain windshield wiper fluid (3 lbs ish when full). When you want to become faster all the little things add up....

Also, have you considered a VB upgrade?

Oh yeah dont forget SLICKS!!
