Hey VIP S2, what happened at the light though? 1.254 R/T, were you just not ready at the right rpm or something? I take it that was on a .500 tree also, seeing as how it didnt effect your ET.

Hey Alberto, I think seeing his 1.9 60' shouldve alerted you also that something wasnt right with his 13.2 run. Thats a pretty impressive 60' on street tires for an S2k. Nonetheless, 13.6 @ almost 102 is still a fun S2k, or any car for that matter.

Ive seen S2K's run 1.9's actually (you dont get many of those launches on a stock clutch though lol) the trap is what shocked me most. But yes, 13.6 is very respectable for the S2K

13.63 @ 102mph with a mediocre 2.12 60' is actually kindof odd - almost like a shift was missed right at the end or maybe someone let off the gas a little before the finish but who knows.

See, I just dont see a lot of any street cars run 1.9 60's on street tires. But real street tires, not any sort of BFG "street" tire. Sounds like it would be a drag out of the clutch at 7.5-8k in an S2k the way your making it sound. Your probably right too, with the utter lack of torque it has, its a pain to launch.

Nealoc, what do you find odd. The trap speed seem low to you for that ET or something? Just curious.

I see nothing odd with the time, only thing is the time is low for the 2.1 60ft, but I'm giving the guy the benefit of the doubt and saying he can drive. Im still curious to see what if any weight reduction he had. No way he missed a shift on that run.

I have only gone to the track 2 times. First I was stock and my best time was 14.67. I got mad and bought a CAI underdrive light weight crank pulley and a jwt clutch and flywheel package. Went back to the track when it was 96 outside and still only ran a 14.22. I know that with some practice lanching off the line and on a cooler day my times should look alot better.

I guess your times could be better with those mods, but dont expect any miracles. If you can run a 13.7ish @ 102-103mph with those mods, that would be impressive enough.

I'm not that well versed in S2000 timeslips to know for sure, but it looks strange compared to what I'm used to seeing. Other cars, for instance, briguymax's Z, went 13.68 @ 102.8mph which is pretty similar, but did so with a 60' time almost a tenth better - I don't recall his 1/8th time/trap though. My old bolton maxima a few years ago went 13.62 @ 101 on a 1.90 60'. So to me that 60' time just seems slow for the ET and trap, but maybe that can be accounted for by the significant gearing and powerband differences between what I'm used to, and what I'm seeing in that timeslip.

Also, the thing I tried working on the most was my 60 foot. That was the key factor on my times.
