A 350Z stock will run better that 14.0 seconds. Post your time slip and lets take a look.

I feel your pain man, I did lots of bolt ons and now the car pulls a lot harder, but makes 1st gear almost unmanageable unless you slip the clutch through the entire gear, grant it im on all seasons, its all in the launch. I want to break into 13's but I dont think im going to unless I get some larger meats on the rear. So now im stuck trying to borrow my buddies mustangs 275's
I also think it kinda depends where you live as well, as it seems east coast Z's hit high 13's fairly easily, it seems like at least in arizona you gotta do a pretty good amount of work or get some real good tires to get past 14's.

Is there a difference between the 300 and the 287 motors?
Don't know how to work the scanner:
R/T..... .202
60'..... 2.332
330...... 6.290
1/8..... 9.500
MPH......77.94
1000.....12.215
1/4.......14.499
MPH......99.11
Temp 52

You've got a lot of room for improvement in that slip. A 2.3 60' has room for improvement. If you could bang off a 2.1 60', that alone should have you running about 14.1 or so. Work on your launch first and make clean shifts. When you begin to get good launches work on faster shifting. You are only gaining barely 22mph in the last 1/8, which isnt bad, but i believe there is a couple mph lost in there probably due to a slow shift! Its ok though, practice makes perfect.

He's taking 4.9sec to cover the backhalf of the track. That's how long it normally takes for a stock Z to cover the backhalf.
That mph gain so many of you like to rave about doesn't mean much at all. Most Zs don't see better than 22mph anyway when stock.
With a 2.1 60' time he'll run what most people run: 13.9-14.1
thanks alot for the info guys......ur right i think it is the launch....i launch at 2500 rpm to keep the wheels from spinning.......and shifting from 1st to 2nd is trickey for me but the rest are ok....another bit of info....im lifting from 1st to 2nd because it feels like i'll break the car if i dont but from 2-3 and 3-4 no lift......should i be lifting 1-2?
The model and condition of the vehicle makes a difference. Has the oil ever been changed? Is the car new, old, has it been maintained properly? What kind of tires? psi? tread/condition? Full tank? Spare tire??? Floor mats?? You get the point.
The driver makes a difference. I hope this one doesn't need any explaining.
The conditions make a difference. Surface material of the track? Condition of the track surface? Track altitude? Barometric pressure? Humidity? Temp? Wind?
Those are all very big interconnected variables.

well the car is 2 yrs old(14,000mi) all maintence done on time....stock tires 28psi in the rear...exactly as it would have left the showroom with 1/4 tank of gas...the tires spun a little but not ridiculously, so the track was ok.....51 degrees......humidity 0...barometer 29.67....bottomline: i need practice launchng....you guys helped alot thanks

Your numbers look like 90-percent of new racers. 2.3 second 60-foot is killing your ET. 2.0 seconds is not going to happen overnight, but with practice, lots of practice. You will be running better than 14.10 seconds.
Im not sure what you mean by saying you think your car is gonna break if you full throttle shift 1-2. I do it plenty and have never felt that way. Does it make a funny sound, or does the rear end jump? A full throttle shift 1-2 will make an instant difference due to keeping momentum.

Practice is all it takes. Before going to the track I thought I was such a fast driver and had mad skills. I went to the track and had unconsistent runs throughout the entire day. 15.8-14.2. I went three weeks later and got a 13.9 on my second run and stayed consistent. Then I got a best of 13.633. This is with an S2000 with Test-Pipe and Exhaust only. Also, the thing I tried working on the most was my 60 foot. That was the key factor on my times.

13.2 @ 104mph in an S2K with only a test-pipe and exhaust, sounds like a FAR stretch by what Ive seen/read about. Do you have any weight reduction/drag radials? 104mph is way strong for what Ive seen, and running 82mph down the 1/8 with an 8.5 time in a basically stock S2K is very fishy...
edit-13.6 @ 101 sounds right, why the *** did you post the first time slip when you cant even read your cars times?
