Default Questions at the Track *vid*

Well i went to LACR last nite and saw a few other Zs along with a s/c g35.

Anywho for those that dont know that track is around 3000 feet above sea level so the altitude blows. But anywho i still had fun.

I was also wondering if that altitude would make such a HUGE difference in time, the best i managed to get was a 14.998 and i had DRs on (555R). Is it the altitude or my driving? or both?

Anyways heres a vid of my 14.9 vs a 04 srt4 pushing 330whp with DRs also.

Any help would be thankful.

Well we can figure out a lot by you telling us what your trap speed was?

Dayum! 93 mph? lol yea dude thats tough. It's not that you suck man, for you to trap that extremly low you would have to seriously seriously suck. The altitude is horrible there.

what did that SRT4 run? If he ran a low 14 or 13.8 or higher that would most likely be an indicator of the bad altitude as well

Yea on the slip it shows he ran a 14.4, so i was hoping it was the altitude. That or my driving is just atrocious.

There you go then, no way in hell a 330whp car runs a 14.4, also your vid sounded decent as far as shifting and launching was concerned. Are there any other tracks that you know of around your area? Maybe with a lower altitude?

I heard Pomona is a good track with good altitude but it's hardly open to the public. I believe the next day it's open (to the public) is Dec 2nd, i'll be there but there is probably gonna be a huge line.

well one you have a passenger and two that track is slow.

When my s2000 was NA the best time I ever got there was 14.6.

Sakred (Hammad) hit like a 14.4 there bone stock.

Both the altitude and your passenger made your times a little slower. Your 1-2 shift seemed a little slow. Your not full throttle shifting. But your 2-3 and 3-4 shifts sounded pretty clean.

What was the trap speed of the SRT-4? Thats what would indicate how much the altitude is effecting your cars. He couldve had a crappy launch himself, or not be the best at shifting which could greatly effect his ET, but his trap is a better indicator of how much power his is making. If he's claiming 330whp, he should have no problem hitting anywhere from 107-112mph.

3000 .9640

The altitude correction factor for 3,000 feet is 0.9640. So 14.998 seconds x 0.964 = 14.45 seconds at sea level.

That's not how DA is determined. You are missing out some important factors.

LVMS is a lil over 2200-2300 or so feet above sea level, but considering the weather factors, can have a DA of over 5000 feet.

Yea my passenger was my little bro, he's only like 75lbs or so.
I was also wondering if my front rims would make a difference, I was running my 19s in the front and my stock 17s with 555rs in the rear.

Sorry for all the questions i'm just kinda disappointed at the times i ran and was wondering what i could do to better it besides FI.

get rid of the 19's and throw 17's all around. dont feel too bad its LACR we all know its crap. your trap speed seems to be a little lacking. thats probably due to the 19's. my car with intake headers cat deletes, underdrive pulley and plenium spacer ran a 13.9 the other day. and i was trapping 100.

I'll go next week with my stockers all the way around and run solo.
