I sometimes let off while shifting. I need to practice power shifting more. If Tyler runs the car a couple times you will see alot better times but he bailed

The car has alot of power! The gears make it alittle tricky to launch and shift through. Even with this soft slip of the clutch launch I still spun hard in 2nd gear when I dumped the clutch.

They didn't call it the Muscle Car era for no reason. You forgot my 67 396/375hp Camaro. That car was actually dangerous. No power steering/AC etc, etc and it didn't weigh anything.

If you can, get rid of the 19's when you race next. That alone should improve your time. You do have a pretty hefty rear end ratio though...what rpm are you using to launch? Tylerxfire is right there so he can figure it out for you.

You can pick up 3/10's of a second in your 60" time alone after some practice.
I think you have a 13.1 or so car with your setup.

Is that the solid lifters 425hp vette engine? Didn't know it came in the camaro. That would be a beast!!!!

Power shifting doesn't make you faster. I wouldn't worry over whether or not you can power shift. You need to be more concerned with clutch feel and release, throttle modulation, proper launch techniques, and shifting faster first. Good show, though. Your Z should be capable of 12 sec passes. You'll get there.

No, it had hydraulic lifters and was rated at 375 or 385 hp. Can't remember.
There weren't very many of them. I wish I still had that car. It handled like a sled though. Way too much front end weight.

Powershifting, I don't like. Very abusive to the stock clutch.

I'd love to try your car, I think it'd be a blast to drag, but probably more suited to a road course with the mod list you have.

I knew if I compared your car to mine it would turn into a dick measuing constest to the bystanders.

I'll be going back to the track with a different setup hopefully soon. I know I won't set any records, it's too hot down here for that, but it should be fun regardless.

Default drag racing times

Its been a few weeks since last visit to a track. With cooler weather coming, I'm looking forward to start going again. I'll be going to Raceway Park & maybe Atco in N.J. It would be nice not to be the only Z. Anyone interested???? With cooler weather, maybe some 12.8's ????

Andre....post up in your local regional sub-forum. You would likely garner a better response.

Its been many weeks since last drag strip visit. Last night Zim & I enjoyed Leb. Valley drag's last week day. The house was packed, unfortunately, only 2 Zzzzs.
Its a nice track in the mountains of N.Y.S, with only fair traction. The best I could do there is 13.0-13.1. One of my 3 runs was very interesting-1st. to 2nd. to fifth gear to 3rd. to 4th. What was my time? 13.4.... Am I bragging? Just part of the fun
I'll plan on going a couple of times to N.J's tracks before end of season. I'm hoping to see 12.8.........
