Wassup!!! Fellow Z owners. I'm my way to San Antonio Raceway to Midnight Madness!!! I'm gonna test out my Mickey Thompson ET Streets on my N/A HR.. I'll be sure to post up some times and vids...
My clutch gave out and was grinding in 2nd everytime... I would like to know from all you experts- Can my quaife LSD be giving out? Cuz there is a burning smell from my rear end, take in mind I also have DSS 1200 hp rated Axles...
Thanks,
Andre
You have an 08 like I do. I had slave cylinder problems that ruined my clutch at 10k-smelled awfull. Dealer (under warranty) installed new slave cylinder. I paid for clutch & flywheel
What clutch and flywheel you using? I am using the clutchmasters FX300 with the stock flywheel and it started grinding in 2nd which clutch and fly would you recommend?

Sometimes less is better-I replaced my stock clutch with one from ACT & their performance organic street disc. Its great. Works as smooth as a stock one with more confidant feel & better wear. Don't know the number, but its easy to find, called heavy duty street.
As far as your 2nd. gear. Did you miss 2nd. once or twice? If you did then maybe you pulled the shifter straight down. I've learned that its best to pull down but toward you/down pulling in. Any new top name aluminum wheel would be fine.
good luck
Thanx andre, my tires were Mickeys ET Streets 27x10.5x15 on 15" Bogart D10s and D10 front runners with Et fronts. And yes I have 4.08s. But my friends in the stand said that while I was heating up the tires one of the tires would stay still while heating up and would continue to spin when I would let off the brake.
You have a base model. Base don't have CVTS old name posi-traction. I think if you get both wheels turning you'll beat my time. I only have 2 bolt ons. & don't have 4.08s
Thats alot of tire in the rear. Are the fronts those narrow ones. My front have 235-45-17 wider than stock. If you beat me, I'll have to spend some more money

I really hope my problem is gonna be my CM FX300 Clutch and not my tranny. But that is my best time.
