Track was slick tonight and my tires are going....3 13.282 passes with different times throughout and wildly different traps, but nothing with a very strong 60', and only one 106 trap. Wait till next year to better my time I guess.

Side note - would getting the grant touring (or Nismo edition) wheels be considered modified if they still have stock rubber? I think I'm going to trade to them regardless, but I don't want someone getting bent that I now have a different wheel out back.

 

All they will do is probably slow you down.

 

+1 Those things are heavy for being a forged nismo...Too bad, cause they look hot.

 

I'm aware, but the deal I'm getting on them is worth it to me. I figure worst case I can trade + cash for better wheels later if someone is selling their car. I just wondered if someone would get mad because I think the advantage of more rubber will offset the extra rotational mass.

 

going from light 17" wheels to Works 19" wheels slowed me down by 3/10ths in the 1/4. I'm going F/I so I don't care now, I will need the extra rubber.

 

I managed to make it out last night to Cecil County Dragway in MD last night for their last night of the season. To my surprise, there was a good crowd but only one other Z was there, a 03 PPW. It was pretty cold and slippery last night, around 35-38 degrees for most of the night.

I still have trouble hooking up in my 6 spd 07 Base(still 100% stock), and I mangaged my best 60' in the 2.2 range.

My best run of the night was a 13.465 at 106.86 with a 2.227 60'

HOWEVER, I did manage to trap four passes over 107 mph! Highest was 107.23, in the second time slip below.

Do you think that this class is a little long? Do you want to make the cut off 25 or 30 or 35?

Or do you just want to have a “bump.” Say 13.99 seconds. Every car that runs 13.99 seconds or better gets on the list. No limit to the number of cars.

 

I like the 13.99 idea. I mean its not that hard to drive a stock Z in low 14's.

 

u lucky bastards on the east coast with an open track and great weather (density altitude) conditions, makes me so jealous, I wanna trap at 107 too!
