This was my first ever quarter mile run.
I suck. My launches were no good.
My quarter mile times = not where they should be.
Track conditions ---> teh suck
Cloudy
55 degrees
97% humidity

I'm glad there was a forum member there, his username is BriX?? He drove an 03 with exhaust and intake, he ran 14.0-14.3's with similar 60' times. It was awesome racing him, the HR and DE power bands became evident. 1st and 2nd gear he had the edge, but then as we came towards the end of the track, I started reeling him in. It was a great race.
I can't believe I didn't break into the 13's. I was expecting high 13's before I headed out to the track. But my launches were lousy.
However, I will leave my car completely stock until I can hit 13's. If the driver is not up to par with a bone stock car, then modding is pointless. I need practice.
Give me teh feedback!!

You should be able to get into the low-mid 13's on a stock 07... 13.2 - 13.4 should be attainable with practice. I ran a 14.0x on my wife's 5AT G35 Sedan. Still, not bad for a first time @ the track.
You did good. In fact 100 percent better than the bench racers around here.
I assume that you are afraid of first gear. It can be a bit anxious to put the throttle to the floor, and the car points the wrong way. With practice you will be used to it. The race is first gear. First gear and reaction time.
BTW you made the Top-25.

You couldn't be more correct. The race IS all about first gear.
Hey Bobby, It was great running against you and I was really happy to have met you. I don't have a scanner but the times and mph weere nearly identical along with 60' times and reaction times. I think we both were running 14.3' - 14.0's at 100-102 all night. As for the conditions...we were running in what could only be described as light fog. Very traction limited. Very power limited. Any other night I think, given our consistancy, we would have been solidly in the 13's. On my end, traction in second was the scary gear not first. lost quite a bit of time there. All in all it was fun and you can count me in any time you want to go. Basically last night was a textbook comparison between gen1 and gen3 350's. I owned the first half of the track and it was up to you to reel me in in time for the win. I do have to say I am impressed with the top end power of the newer car, but torque wins the race and I think I'll keep the 03. As for weight comparisons all i can say is that we were both running the exact amount of fuel(indicated 1/2 tank) and full weight(spare tire/jack etc.). My mods are jic y pipe, Tanabe exhaust all running through stock cats, Kinetix v+ intake and pop charger. his were, well none. both cars are Touring.

^^Hey Brian.
Yeah I have to say, you had me off the line plenty of times. I think there was like only 1 or 2 launches were I was par to you and we demonstrated the HR and DE power curves
. Good races.
Yeah next time you want to go the strip, let me know Brian!

No doubt. That 07 of yours pulls STRONG on the top end. It was nice to see the true difference between the cars. You were definatly reeling me in on every run. It was also nice to see what other cars were running. That white camaro ss would have had its *** handed to it by either one of us.

Here is an example above. #215 runs 13.6 seconds. #141 runs 14.1 seconds. But #141 crosses the finish line 5/100 seconds before #215. Had this been a real race, #141 would win.

Tomorrow night will be the last day to race because after that they'll be closed until sometime in January. Let me know if you want to go tomorrow night, I just might come (I have to pick somebody up at the airport, so I'll see how that goes).

I can gurantee you that no matter how great the DA's are, 90% of the tracks would not allow a stock 07 Z to hit 13.2, even with perfect driving.
It looks like his car could have pulled around ~13.7 is he had better 60ft's (2.0's is nothing easy to achieve). But then again, he did state the conditions sucked. Wih 97% humidity, I would assume the track would be somewhat moist, hence, traction issues.
High to mid 13's is probably the accepted "range" for an 07 Z with ideal conditions & great driving. Those who get below 13.5 are lucky enough to have an excellent track at ideal conditions and ofcourse, experience in drag racing.
