1/8 Speed is good. Work on that launch and your good, seems like to me you just need more seat time. Having a base @ stock power levels wont negatively affect you at the track, in fact most of the 1.9 60ft's I have seen from Z's have come on stock tires on base models.

Yeah, I definately need more seat time.. That was probably the 4th time I ever tryed to launch the car off the line. Actually, the 4th time I ever launched any RWD car.

After the launch, hitting 2nd and 3rd seem to be really easy in this car. I barely even got a spin into 2nd, just 2 small hops then it hooked.

What RPM do you recommend launching at?

Only got to run 3 times, it was really packed. First time I launched too high and spun the tires all the way through first gear, I think I hit a 9.5 or something like that.

The second time I ran a 9.15 @ 79mph

Third and last run was the best, I hit a 9.15 @ 80mph, I still have to work on launching it because I could only hit a 2.19 60' (no LSD, stock tires)

Break down of the numbers:
2.190 60'
6.044 300'
9.1574 1/8th ET
80.07 1/8th MPH
Good to see that you made it to the dragstrip. With the right conditions, I see you running 2.0 second 60-foot times. Nice driving.

Every car, track, time out will be different. Start low say around 2500rpm's and work up. I ran 27psi in my street tires and did 2.0's my 2nd and 3rd time launching the car stock. Even off idle I usually still ran mid 2.1's...

I had almost the exact same pressure (28psi).. Can't wait to go back on friday, I really want to hit an 8.

On the last run a guy in a G35 automatic sedan came up to me and ask me if I wanted to run.. He was exicted another VQ was there. He ran a 9.5, 9.7, and another 9.5.. I guess he saw me run a terrible time the first run (9.6 ET, 2.6 60'), so he figured he could beat me.

About 10 minutes later (after they cleaned up the pieces of the CTS-V rear end off the track) he asked me if I wanted to "make it interesting".. I didn't think he was serious at first, then he showed me a $20 so I figured "what the hell, at least I don't have to pay for my track entry if I win"..

I ran 9.15 and he ran 9.5.. Pulled up to my car and gave me the money, he was real cool about it.

I'll be up there tonight (at about 8pm) and tomorrow (about 7pm).

Tomorrow they're having "Street Warriorz 2". I went to it last year and it was awesome.. "barely legal" bikini contest, car show, live band, burn-out competition, and everyone gets to run their car as much as they want. Alot of cash prices as well. I think there's going to be some jet powered cars there this time. Should be interesting to see them run in an 1/8th mile.

Last year there was easily 1,000 cars there.

Hey Joe did you make it out. We got there a little late and didn't get to get in with our cars. I saw a DB and thought it was you. He was running there was a red one, a Lemans convert, a silver one with TTs.

My girlfriend worked with the girl who poses for penthouse. Pretty good time.
The jet powered firetruck was awesome. Loud as Hell-o but awesome.

I was looking for ya

I meet the other DB, Nick, I told him to come check out the forums.

We should have a GTG one friday and go to the track...

Ended up going but it was insanely crowded there.. I only stayed for about 15 minutes or so.. Yeah, we should all meet up there sometime.

Just in case anyone cares, I went down to brandenton and ran a 14.1 @ 99.8.. 1/8th mile time was better (9.02) because of my 2.04 60' time. But I shifted slow from 3rd to 4th. Also had the spare tire in there, 1/2 a tank of gas, all floor mats, ect.. Only got 2 runs, first one was a 14.2 @ 99.1 because the car was very heat soaked. 2nd run I cooled down for about 30-40 minutes. With a good 3rd-4th shift I think I can hit a 13.9 or so.. I haven't put on the test pipes yet, only mod is JWT pop charger.
