Default '04 Base 6speed 350z 1/8th mile

I was planning on going out to the local 1/8th mile track tonight. I was wondering what a good time was for a bone stock '04 base 350z.

The car is bone stock down to the tires (but there is alot of tread left on them).. I would like to consider myself a good driver, but I am still getting use to launching the car. I use to run 9.72 @ 73.44 in my scion tC with bolt-ons, I was also hitting a 2.2-2.1 60' time on worse then stock tires.. I figure if I'm able to do that with crappy FWD with 150whp, with some seat time I should be able to hit a 2.0 60' with the Z.

Any replys would be helpful (ok, maybe not the one's asking why I was racing a scion),

There are plenty of time slips posted here: https://my350z.com/forum/drag/233840-top-25-1-4-mile-times-for-tt-st-supercharger-nitrous-bolt-ons-stock.html

I found one that was stock and it was a 8.8, is that about the normal time for these cars?

I ran 8.8 stock with a 2.0 60ft time, too bad I only ran it stock 3X. I could have done better...shoot for getting under 9.0, post results.

+1 to alberto's high sub 9 sec. is pretty standard and should lead to a high 13 1/4 mile time (if you could)

I would say. I may have to consider converting to an 1/8 track seeing as how its the closest to me.

So from what you guys are saying, a well-driven Z (stock) is good for 9.0's or better in 1/8???

yes

my first outing with my new toy '03 track model (bone stock on falken azenis rt615 245/40/18 rear tires) this past weekend already netted a 9.07 1/8th mile time with a 13.96 @ 101 mph 1/4 mile time

crappy 2.15 60' time on that pass as well so more left in it for sure

I didn't get a chance to go to the 1/8th mile track, I just got a new transmition and clutch put in the car and I didn't want to beat on it yet. I'll probably go next week, but I should have a JWT popcharger and test pipes by then.

Alright, I just got back from the track. Only mod is JWT popcharger, I haven't put the test pipes on yet. I also had half a tank of gas and the spare tire & jack in the car.

Only got to run 3 times, it was really packed. First time I launched too high and spun the tires all the way through first gear, I think I hit a 9.5 or something like that.

The second time I ran a 9.15 @ 79mph

Third and last run was the best, I hit a 9.15 @ 80mph, I still have to work on launching it because I could only hit a 2.19 60' (no LSD, stock tires)

Break down of the numbers:
2.190 60'
6.044 300'
9.1574 1/8th ET
80.07 1/8th MPH

At what RPM did you launch at on your best run?

I'm not exactly sure, somewhere between 2,000-3,000 RPMs.. I would guess about 2,500.. It definately wasn't high enough, the car bogged a little bit off the line.

The first time I tryed 3,000-3,200 but I just started spinning all the way through first gear.

I think I could hit a 8.8-8.9 with a good launch. However, I'm happy with the 80mph trap speed.
