Depends what group you are running with. SCCA and NASA club racing ok till 2010 maybe less. Some HPDE's want SA2005, but most would probably let you slide.

^^^ exactly what he said.

Does your 1/4 track really check the rating of your helmet? I've been to some tech **** tracks but I've never had my helmet rating checked (talking about 1/4 mile tracks here. I've had my helmet checked at road courses)

David,

Here's the definitive answer that you were looking for:

http://www.nhra.com/content/news.asp...17364&zoneid=8

Excerpt:

Helmet Expiration Dates

Effective Jan. 1, 2007, where a Snell- or SFI-rated helmet is required in competition, the Snell 95 and SFI 31.1, 31.2, 41.1, and 41.2 helmets will no longer be allowed. Look in the General Regulations section of the 2007 NHRA Rulebook under Helmet and Goggles for expiration dates for all Snell and SFI-tagged helmets.

Whoops. Should have checked the forum. There is a downside to only reading new posts.
