i can do a daily drivable setup with parts and prices but not sure how close the power will be
Thats what I was trying to say earlier. When you mentioned doing this type of setup a while ago, I was really excited but when I seen the CR you went with I was taken a'back! Hopefully you'll be able to use the knowledge gained from this build to setup a more mild N/A application with say 100 octane at most.

Did you always plan on spraying this motor? If yes, why did you go so high with the CR? Couldn't the power lost with a lower compression be gained back with a bigger shot?

I just thought you'd make it more streetable. That way people would be lining up at your door... maybe they already are

Wow, high 11's/low 12's N/A. Congrats, that’s one great accomplishment.

Nitrous loves high compression.

Can we get some audio of what that thing sounds like?

Some what off the topic, but

If people want to do High compression and dont want to run 110 octane all the time, Water injection would be a good wrote to go. Snow performance sells Water injection systemes that uses the MAF signal to know when to inject.

well lets see a basic parts/price list rundown of the major things done and then how you think we could do it similiarly but being able to run pump., we could always use a great buildup for N/A and to keep up with you add a little juice to the mix, but still be a N/A beast on pump for the road.

well a simple breakdown would be this on the price.

JE custom pistons, under 900
eagle rods 450
gasket overhaul from nissan 250
cams of choice 1000
supertech full valvetrain with dual springs 1300
ported heads??? thats what i am not sure of, i thnk my machine shop would do it for around 500 dollars but i had the set laying around that were already ported.

machine shop costs, 750 on the motor, 800 on the heads without porting

so yeah, thats about what i spent, plus the labor for me to put it together

if you skipped the headwork and just did the cams and maybe 12 to 1 compression, you could easily run all day on pump gas

if you brought me a stock motor, i could do pistons, rods, and cams that would be easily daily drivable at 12 to 1 compression. set up the utec for a DD map and a race map. i could do that kind of setup for around 3600 for the longblock built or 4500 installed.

im sure the prices will come down when the car has been out longer. but thats the run down really quick for now.

its not that i am an attention *****, its that i like competition and i try to get people to "try" to hang... nothing i am doing is ground breaking as far as engines go, just something new with this platform. its just a fun friendly competition trying to get people to step up!!

jeremey you know what would be hot also, if you did amsoil oil changes. With all the damn sht im hearing about this oil i havent found one place that uses this and does a oil change lmao. Just nit picking. Im preety sure all Z owners wanna use the best overall. Right now im looking into 0w 30 castrol GC which is hella hard since autozone is only carrying the US version . If i have a oil issue and they give me a new motor or determine no im just gonna use the damn best oil i can get and run from there . lol

btw when are u heading back to the track man i wanna see this thing run and how it sounds

Thats it...I'm saving my money for this. How much extra to bring it out to a 4.2L?
