2007 350Z PB times......video and pics...
I went to Carolina Dragway tonight, knowing my clutch is still not up to the task. This track is known is the "house of hook", so traction is not a problem at all, if you launch right, and the conditions were good for decent times.
On the first pass, my clutch pedal dropped to the floor briefly, before popping back out, so I was worried it wouldn't be a good night. Even so, the Z ran a very easy 13.6.
I only made a few passes, one of which I aborted when the pedal went right to the floor on the launch. I then let the clutch cool off for a while between the last 3 runs. This paid off, and while I still had to hold back a bit on the launch, I was able to shift fast. I could still tell the clutch gave up a little in 3rd and 4th.
The result was a 1.958 60', 8.602 1/8th and 13.354 1/4!
All in all I was happy, as the car is still not running up to its potential, and will ran two 13.3's anyway. I guess I will have to see if a new stock clutch will fix the problem.
Here are some pics and video of my two best passes, which was a bit difficult, do to some local rednecks getting in the way. The Carolina Dragway does not display times on grudge night, and they cut the time slips in half, so that each racer only knows their times.
Oh yeah, I had a 1/4 tank of gas, and the temperature was around 48-50 degrees with the humidity at 60%.

briguy was trapping almost that much in his z, if he was as good on street tires back then as vee is he would have been around that same ET IMO
maybe when he gets his clutch issues worked out it will pick up some mph

Although his ET is excellent, it still only trapped 103.
Those 60ft's, along with the right temperature, gave him those superb timings.
Great job; I wish I had such 60 footers

The majority of pre 07 Z's will trap anywhere from 99-102 pretty consistently. Sure there are a couple that will trap higher than that but it's be pretty rare if you look at the overall scope of things. The gearing and powerband is clearly superior on the new engine as the few people that have run have all put down benchmark numbers. These times and traps are perfectly on track with stock evo's and sti's....which is where our cars should at least be.
Thanks everyone.
The clutch is part of the reason the trap is down. I am taking it to the dealer this week.
Matt, this weekend would be great, if I didn't have to work. You should give it a shot while the weather is perfect.

Jackie, I understand what your saying, but some other 07's on this forum have trapped 105+, but clearly is not driver. VeeTec is a good driver, and its clear by his consistent 60's, but the 07s are definitely a little quicker. Enough for me to trade in my 03 for one? Im just not sure of yet!
