350Z Clutch Smoked
Was at Midnight Mayhem last night making some runs. On the third pass clutch did'nt release on 1-2 shift. It was stuck to floor, used the tip of my toe to bring pedal back up. Big time burnt clutch smell. Let the car sit for an hour or so to cool the clutch down, hoping I could drive it home. Made it home ok. Did some stoplight runs, clutch seems ok. Pulled it into garage could still smell it was burnt. What do you think caused the pedal not to release and stay stuck to the floor? I'm going to replace the whole clutch/flywheel/linkage system. It's not urgent as the car is not my daily driver. Oh, the car has 2700 miles on it.

Is ur car a pre 05? It happened to my car ALL the time prior to CD009 tranny (which happens to include a new slave cylinder!). After that, it NEVER happened again. As a matter of fact, the new clutch feels SO much better, it deterred me from wanting to upgrade clutches.

The car is a 2005 35th An. 6Speed. Revup Motor 300hp. No mods, except a clear bra. Soon to change. I was going to change the fluid in the slave cylinder to Motul Syn. Stainless steel line, Chrome moly pivot ball, engine dampner. Hopefully the clutch is not damaged to badly. If it is, I'll go with a high performance packge from JWT or SGP. I plan on putting Nitrous on it initially to shut people up at the track.
