Trap higher but ET slower
So, I was super exited at the chance to finally hit 11's. My best with this setup was 12.07 @ 110 w/ 1.77 60'.
My buddy Ztampa tuned my utec for me but he knows my wife. That being said, he was too afraid to find the edge with this setup because if something did happen to the motor, he felt like he would endure the wrath .
Basically, it was setup to run rich with mad timing taken out.
Anyway, Jeremy from Performance Factory picked me as a sponsored car . I drove over to his shop to talk details and while I was there he wanted to take a look at my map. He saw plenty to improve on so he did a quick 5 minute street tune with one or two data logs. He instructed me to run some times and see where we're at and then bring it back for a dyno session to pull every last bit out of this setup while being safe.
Now the times!
Best was a 12.3 @ 113 w/ 2.0 60' Yes, I did have my drag radials on
First, I'd like to thank Jeremy! His five minute street tune did improve my trap by 3 mph However, traction was a huge issue
I don't think the track was prepped well. I consistently hit very low 1.8 and sometimes high 1.7 60' with these tires. I launch around 6000 to achieve these but tonight it went straight to spinning. Lowered my launch to 5000 and still spun. I've never had this happen with these tires. Started messing with tire pressure and the whole bit... even second gear was a challenge
A lot of guys were complaining about traction but the tell tale sign was my mud flaps. Usually after a night of racing my mud flaps and wheel wells are caked with rubber... tonight nothing!
There's plenty of tread left on my tires so I don't think they glazed over or anything. Another thing that was interesting was I noticed a mustang spinning off the line and left grayish tire marks... this was happening all night. Usually they leave black marks
What really pissed me off is I've never done burnouts this well. I was damn near perpendicular with the track when I let off
Maybe I just need to pony up and get some slicks and junk these 245 DR's but hopefully it was the track.
Jeremy, hit me up sometime next week if I didn't already lose my sponsorship
Again, it felt much faster I just couldn't get it to hook!

nice man!! 5 minutes of street tuning picked up 3 mph!! hehe
we will get it on the dyno and get some more out of it. you need to get some slicks and be done with it. 113 is good but we can still get you to easily trap around 116-118 with that set up.
we need to get you some 27 inch slicks. that way they wont be too big but you can stay in 4th gear through the traps. good job though, get some better tires and a little better setup and you will be set.
did you shift into 5th??

Jay...sorry to hear about the times but I'm sure you'll get it soon. I can't believe that on a test& tune night they wouldn't have prepped the track, that just sucks.Bradenton usually does a good job with track prep.

I'll look into some slicks...birthday is next month In the mean time I'll try these DR's again after the dyno session. Bradenton has a Runday Sunday(most Sundays) which usually brings out some really fast cars so I know the track will be prepped well.

Wow, you leave the juice on till 6700. Thats impressive. I was always concerned after all the talk about the extra amount of strain on the VQ's after 6k with F/I. You have a strong car though. With a 113mph trap speed, and tapping in 4th gear, you do have a little more MPH in it. Hopefully it was just the track though. I had the same problem at the track the last time out as well. Horribly prepped last time out!

Times I've run in the past with 1.8 60's with an ET of 12.3 would net me traps of 106-108 I've never been above 110 before on any of my nitrous runs which is about 30+ passes. Before this last time out I only had one 1.9 60' with these DR's and I think that was my first time. This last time out I was hitting 2.0's and was like WTF! Like I said earlier, there was no rubber in my wheels wells this time when usually they're caked with rubber.
Alberto, Ive seen your burnouts so if you think your tires are hot then mine are melting This was just a bad prepped track that night which is very unusual for Bradenton Motor Park
