Default Went to the strip and HELLO 13's w/ 2.047 60'!!

Went to the track today and broke my previous personal best and broke into the 13's! I was wicked excited when I got my time slip... Here's my runs:

BEST:
60' = 2.047
330= 5.896
1/8 = 9.037 @79.93
1000 = 11.718
1/4 = 13.982@99.49

My other runs:
60' = 2.260
1/4 = 14.281@100.86

60' = 2.141
1/4 = 14.124@100.36

Thanks! Good luck with your car too, I hope your next track day you get back to 99-100ish traps!

Now that I cracked 13's I can't wait till I get some more milage on my car and then I can get deeper into the 13's.. 4600 miles is nothing, people have posted time and time again they they feel more power around the 7000-8000 mile mark so I think I am off to a good start!

I think its like 100ft above sea level, but for some reason its usually humid at the track.

damn, good times. I had similar runs my first time ever at a track. Hopefully my 2nd time out will turn out as good as yours.

CONGRATS!!! Awesome times!

Did you power shift? Did you remove the spare/tools etc.? Did you lower your tire pressure?

Took out spare and kept tools n stuff in (didn't want to move them so they would rattle after I put them back in). Front pressure 40psi - rear pressure 30 psi.. Regular shifting, usually manage to chirp 2nd and 3rd, 1 time even 4th!

I raced a really nice new Blue Civic Si Coupe with a Turbo and lots of other mods, really clean looking appearace kit w/ rims, licence plate said "ShowNGo".. He ran a 14.74 @97 with a crappy 2.6 60', not bad for a civic..

FYI: I weighted the spare, it weights exactly 30lbs

I would say that that was some fine driving, you got better time with less speed.

Do you shift at redline? Who did you race in the other runs?

Congrats!!

I launched at roughly 2500 RPMs sliding the clutch out just fast enough not to spin the tires too much while giving it more and more gas..

I shifted as close to the redline as possible since last week's experiment with shifting at 6200 handed me my worst run ever by more than .3 --- I also may have hit the rev limiter just barley on my 13.9 run on my 2nd->3rd shift

As the night went on I had to wait in line longer and longer before actually racing, my first 2 runs my car had been sitting for like 20-30 mins then i turned it on and raced, the last one, my best ET but lowist trap, I was idling for 15mins in line before I raced so heat may have hurt my trap speed abit.. Also it became more humid as the night progressed which could of also been a factor seeing that as the night went on my traps went lower..

My other races were vs a early 90's Vette which I beat by 2-3 car lenghts, he had some wheel spin off the line.. My other race was pretty interesting, it was an early 80's Omni, said GLHS Shelby on it and had all kinds of turbo/intercooler stickers and had a nice shiney paint job and nice rims.. It pulled a 14.4@102.1

I also pulled a .520 light on one of my runs!
